Though the first season is absolutely the best season of the show, Jessica Jones doesn't have a huge dip in quality in seasons 2 or 3 either. The series tackles some dark topics while still fitting into the Marvel world of superheroes. The narrative is entertaining, but also deeply affecting. Watching a woman struggle with PTSD, numbing the pain of her past with alcohol, but still trying to be a force for good, makes for a beautifully difficult story.

The first season faced a lot of the same problems that all of these Marvel Netflix series had: a locked episode number, but a poor use of their time. Could've been two episodes shorter for the story they chose to tell, but it was a really great, tense, darkly comic story.

Jessica Jones is easily one of the most riveting superhero series of the past decade. Krysten Ritter brought to full embodiment the intricate character of Jessica, a retired superhero-turned-private investigator haunted by trauma and with an insatiable thirst for justice. It probes far darker themes than most Marvel series, which is refreshing for that very fact. More to that, the acting done by David Tennant as Kilgrave is beyond words since he brings a lot of quite chilling intensity to a villain who controls minds.

The most lowkey Defenders saga shows which is a good thing. It allows to really explore Jessica Jones a a character. Love how strong her characterization is throughout the series. Think the first season is one of the best of all the Netflix Marvel shows. Loses me towards the end of the series though.
