  • I really love the Legend of Korra and I think book three might be my favorite season of either series. Bolin is my favorite character in the franchise. I relate to him in a lot of ways. Pro Bending is probably one of the best ideas I have ever seen. Wish it focused on that more again in later seasons.

  • A sequel to Avatar: the Last Airbender was going to have its work cut out for it, even if the network didn't completely hamstring it at every turn. Korra is a little more adult than Aang's story, and has less of a line between good and evil, making her journey less satisfying for some. However, it still respected its child audience with a series about how growing up and becoming an adult isn't all it's cracked up to be, even with phenomenal cosmic powers.

  • The Legend of Korra isn't a perfect follow-up to Avatar: The Last Airbender due to its weaker character writing, controversial lore additions, and a poor handling of its serialized storytelling, but the characters are all still entertaining in their own right and always allow for good story beats and even greater action. The series has a very divisive reputation, but anyone who liked Avatar is bound to get a lot out of it, regardless.

  • While a lot of people prefer the original Avatar series to The Legend of Korra, I actually prefer the sequel. The storylines feel more mature because the main characters are older. The show spanning a longer amount of time also means that any growth for the characters doesn't feel rushed. Korra is also infinitely more flawed than Aang, making her incredibly relatable. It still has the sense of humor of the original series, but it's got a darker feel, and the focus on the Spirit World makes for a great way to flesh out the mythology inherent in the franchise.
