I enjoyed it for what it was BUT one thing that stuck out to me was my 11-year-old daughter... she woke up and saw that I had the movie on and was like "Did you know there are two actresses that play the doll"

I said, "that makes sense... a voice actor and a physical actor."

She said "I think that's cool... can you watch it and tell me if you think I can watch it, or maybe tell me the scary parts so I can look away"

Never once did I talk about this movie to her... so that means it made rounds at her school, which made me think about my childhood. I hearing about Chucky when I was a kid, not actually seeing the movie, but just KNOWING who Chucky was. This kinda gave me the same vibes... but it's obviously for the modern era.

Now, as an adult my opinion on Chucky is that they're not good movies... but they ARE good concepts... and they infected my young mind... which is exactly what M3gan is doing to my kiddo.

...it's the perfect gateway to horror for the young... and I'm all for it!

  • Megan is a neat little film that has some interesting things to say about technology that people might not realize. Throughout the film, Megan and technology is raising the little girl while her guardian neglects here. It's reflective of the "ipad" generation for sure. Also has some thrilling moments.

  • M3GAN is a movie that doesn't take itself too seriously, and as long as you don't take it too seriously either, you'll enjoy it. It was a lot more fun and campy than genuinely scary, but it works for this movie, as long as you're not expecting a truly terrifying horror film.

Synopsis

M3GAN tells the story of a lifelike robotic doll who arrives in a little girl's life to help her cope with the death of her parents. As the young Cady befriends the robot, its designer, Cady's aunt Gemma, realizes her self-aware invention is too dangerous to be kept alive. Blumhouse's 2022 horror phenomenon mixes Chucky's creepy inclination for violence with the Terminator's unstoppable nature to craft a terrifying look at the dangers of Artificial Intelligence.
