When I first started this, I didn't really think I was going to like it. The art style was kind of different, which I know why it was, but I just had a hard time getting used to it at first. However, the idea of psychics and even Dimple the ghost convinced me to keep going and I'm so glad I did. This is an incredible little gem and honestly worthy of more hype. It may not be cinematically insane, although I would argue against that for some episodes, but the story and the characters are so well-written. Mob in particular is a fascinating protagonist because while he is literally capable of crushing almost anyone, he has zero desire to do so unless left with no other choice. Most of the time we see these overpowered protagonists just go and go it's always meant to be crazy, but it never is because they use their powers literally all the time. For Mob, it is a rarity though, and that alongside the contrast of his desire for peace makes him feel even that much more powerful. It's a flex and I think he deserves more recognition for it.

Not only does Mob Psycho 100 have some of the best animation of any anime in recent years, even with its unconventional art style, but it's all wonderfully complemented by a hilarious and heartfelt coming-of-age story with an amazing payoff for the character arc of its lead. Series creator One is best known for creating One-Punch Man, but in of overall quality, Mob Psycho 100 is undoubtedly the better work.
