  • I did not enjoy this feature, and it feels like a movie which relied too hard on the recognition of its stars over the quality of the script. In a genre that has plenty of recurring jokes, Red Notice was left to live or die by its cast's chemistry, and there was a noticeable lack of energy between Reynolds, Johnson, and Gadot. Rather than finding the begrudging respect that these kind of rivalries often involve, every interaction is lacking of charm, and is unable to elevate a by-the-numbers plot. Ritu Aryuu is the highlight of the movie, as she deserves more opportunities beyond this.

Synopsis

Red Notice stars Ryan Reynolds, Dwayne Johnson, and Gal Gadot in a globe-trotting action-thriller involving the hunt for a priceless jeweled egg. FBI Agent John Hartley (Johnson) is tasked with tracking two of the world's most renowned art thieves: Booth (Reynolds) and Bishop (Gadot), who are both out to steal the egg. However, getting caught up with two of the world's most efficient criminals in a race around the globe is a tougher task than Hartley counted on.

Red Notice doesn't quite coalesce into something that could become a timeless classic of its own, but it provides plenty of entertainment.
