WHERE TO WATCH

  • It feels rare to find a big-budget, star-studded movie that's as beautiful, touching, moving, and thought-provoking as The Truman Show. Jim Carrey and Ed Helms are both at their absolute best, the entire concept is so novel that it became the only way to describe something that hadn't existed before, and it's just a joy to watch on every level. Truly a special film.

  • Genuinely touching and humane, the Truman Show sincerely believes that there's something in the human soul that it's a crime to place limits on. Jim Carrey is great as Truman, projecting longing from behind a faltering goofball persona.

  • Sometimes creative people craft a parable warning humanity to turn around before they do something horrible. And sometimes humanity says, "Oh, we should totally do the thing from the movie!" When reality TV was just a sparkle in the eye of a TV executive, The Truman Show warned us of television trying to turn human life and suffering into commercial entertainment. And then we all thought that would be great and now there are Real Housewives in every city.
