  • Firstly, I just wanna say that I was CONVINCED Ed Sheeran was going to be the villain of his movie 😂 This was genuinely so good. I didn't really think I was gonna like it because it seemed like it would be pretty slow paced, but the idea was so simple and interesting. It was also really cool to see the butterfly effect that would've happened without the Beatles. Like they had all these in-depth explanations for why something wouldn't have existed without the Beatles and it was honestly impressive and really interesting. Furthermore, you could argue that Jack is a super talented person, even with stealing the music, because it's not just the songs that made The Beatles famous, it's their ion and their talent. Not everyone would be able to just start performing Beatles songs and reach the same level of fame that they actually did, especially solo. The saddest part of this though was their display of how "John" would've lived a long and happy peaceful life if he hadn't been part of The Beatles, which we can't confirm but it is a strong possibility. I also appreciate how simple the ending was.

  • A strange movie that I feel doesn't utilize its premise as best as it could. In a world where only one guy knows that The Beatles existed of course he was going to take their songs and become famous. Glad to see Ed Sheeran in this. Hey Dude. Classic.

  • Yesterday has a fantastical premise strengthened by the performance of the main actor Himesh Patel. The film makes good use of the Beatles' music, and I'm so happy they included Eleanor Rigby. The movie was extremely entertaining.

Yesterday Review: Roll Up for the (Sorta) Magical Mystery Tour
5/10

Yesterday is a fluffy and ultimately half-baked 'What if?' fantasy that partially gets by on its zestful storytelling and endearing performances.
