While fans have been eagerly awaiting reputation (Taylor's Version), it looks like Taylor Swift's next album, nicknamed TS12, is coming.
However, this felt unusual, as Swift has been on a two-year pattern for releasing her re-recordings. The singer put out Fearless (Taylor's Version) and Red (Taylor's Version) in 2021, followed by Speak Now (Taylor's Version) and 1989 (Taylor's Version) in 2023. Despite this, recent clues suggest Swift might have something different up her sleeve.

Taylor Swift Is Teasing A TS12 Announcement At The AMAs
Swift Could Release A New Album Before Another Rerecording
Taylor Swift has been dropping a lot of Easter eggs that something will be going down at the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAS). After the show was acquired by CBS, it was scheduled for May 26th, 2025, and Swift is up for six awards. The first sign Swift was up to something was when Taylor Nation, Swift's official marketing team, was seemingly posting a countdown. While it hasn't been confirmed, they kept sharing anniversary posts for the release of Swift's songs and albums.
They started with 5 years of "The Man" music video, then 4 years of Fearless (Taylor's Version), and 3 years of "This Love (Taylor's Version)." It seemed pretty unusual, since they weren't celebrating the anniversary of everything Swift has ever released. However, more obvious Easter eggs have started dropping recently. Swift's online store was overhauled, with items organized into categories and listed in this specific order: Apparel, Music, Accessories, and Sale (TSUpdating on Twitter/X).
Taking just the first letters of each word, it spells AMAs. After this, it became obvious that a previously overlooked The Tortured Poets Department track "thanK you aIMee." Since the title capitalizes random letters to spell Kim, the tweet mimicked this by capitalizing random letters in the lyrics. Only now does it make sense that the letters were not random, but actually spell out AMAs.
However, there's one specific Easter egg that confused Swifties, who previously assumed Swift was announcing reputation (Taylor's Version) at the American Music Awards. On Swift's online store, 12 items are 26% off. This suggests that at the AMAS on May 26th, Swift might be announcing TS12. This also connects to the 2025 Grammys, when Taylor Swift wore earrings with 12 stones in them and when she used 12 D's in her Instagram caption to promote Selena Gomez's new album.
Now THIS Is A True Taylor Swift Easter Egg
Swift's Clues Are More Obvious Than Swifties Think
Taylor Swift has sent her loyal fans on Easter egg hunts since the beginning of her career. However, in recent years, especially in the social media-dominated world, fans have gone to extremes to prove that some of Swift's actions are Easter eggs. Oftentimes, Swifties will post lengthy TikTok videos with advanced math equations to prove why Swift will drop an album on a specific date. Unfortunately, these videos have yet to be proven correct. However, the AMAS clues are actually Swift's style of Easter eggs.

This One Reputation Taylor's Version Track Has Me Convinced That It's Her Best Re-Recorded Album Yet
There's one Reputation (Taylor's Version) track that could be evidence that Taylor Swift's re-recording will be her best one yet.
Despite what Swifties think, the pop star is a lot more obvious with her clues. For example, she pushed the purple elevator button in the "Bejeweled" music video to signify her purple album Speak Now (Taylor's Version) was coming next. The AMAs tweets and signs on her website seem like actual Easter eggs because they are too obvious to be a coincidence, especially given how much Taylor Nation is pushing fans to vote for Swift.
Will Swift Really Break Her Current Trend Of Album Releases?
Swift Loves To Switch Things Up
Swift loves following an album release pattern. From 2006 through 2014, she released a new album every two years. So far in her re-recording process, Swift has released two albums every two years. However, the pop star also loves spontaneity and switching things up, so no one knows what her next move will be. After 1989, she waited three years before releasing reputation. Then, after releasing Lover in 2019, she released both folklore and evermore in 2020.
She also surprised fans when she released Midnights and The Tortured Poets Department, because fans assumed she wouldn't put out new music until after the re-recording process was over. Given her history, it wouldn't be surprising if Swift switched up her release pattern and shocked Swifties with a brand-new album. However, it's important to note that at the 2024 Grammys, Swift tricked her fans into believing she was about to announce reputation (Taylor's Version).
No one knows what her next move will be.
Before the ceremony, Swift changed her social media pictures to black and white images and showed up to the awards in a white dress with black gloves. However, it wasn't reputation that she was announcing, but TTPD. It's possible that Swift is once again throwing red herrings at her fans; after all, she did tease reputation in her iHeartRadio Awards acceptance speech. The truth is, no one can ever really be sure what Taylor Swift is up to, as she's mastered the element of surprise and will continue to utilize it for the rest of her career.
