Fans are now dragging which set the felon off.
Leah, who is just 12, is going through a lot of emotions when it comes to how she feels toward her birth mother. As fans recall, Amber has not been a staple in Leah's life since she was in jail and chose two men over her daughter. Leah's open and honest truth hit home for many viewers who empathized with the young tween as she told her father, Gary Shirley, that she didn't feel she wanted a relationship with her mother. Fans noted that she had grown close with her stepmother, Kristina Shirley, who seemed to be a bit more stable presence throughout her life.
One Reddit noted that it was not healthy for Gary to force his daughter to have a relationship with her mother if she was "crazy." One fan bluntly wrote that if you have to keep telling your child you are a good mother, then "you're a shi**y mom." Many fans could relate to the tween as they, too, had a rough upbringing. Amber was furious with her daughter's stance and claimed she was always with her child even though fans know that was not the whole truth since she spent time in jail.
Fans watched on the new episode as Leah made it clear she did not want to invite Amber to her 12th birthday party. In the end, the invite was sent, but Amber made the decision to turn it down, which added to her daughter's point and frustration. Even though the teen mom posted an Easter shout-out to her daughter where she mentioned she knows her daughter needs time, fans still felt that Amber's reaction to the episode was selfish and not motherly at all.
MTV fans loved that Leah was standing up for herself and while Gary was acting as the ive parent, many hope that he listens to his daughter's wants and needs instead of guilt-tripping her into an unwanted relationship. Fans felt that Leah was extremely brave to share her grievances and were saddened that Amber couldn't hear what her daughter was saying. Hopefully, the two will iron out their differences in the weeks to come.
Teen Mom airs on Tuesday at 10 pm EST on MTV
