Warning! Spoilers ahead for Justice League #54
In the latest issues of Teen Titans reunion.
In Death Metal, the entire world has shifted and changed, having been twisted to fit the whims of Perpetua and her second in command, Legion of Doom Gorilla Grodd, Cheetah, and Sinestro, who are all trapped and being used to power the throne thanks to him.
What's really cool is that this impromptu and very odd Justice League gets some much-needed back-up in Justice League #54 from writer Joshua Williamson with art by Xermanico. None other than Starfire and Cyborg arrive in a boom tube, coming right off of their adventures in space as seen in Justice League Odyssey. Naturally, they are incredibly confused to find themselves not near the Hall of Justice, but right in the middle of the Arkham Wastelands, where Dr. Arkham uses the realm's radiation to experiment and create twisted versions of Batman enemies. Not only that, but in what's become the norm for Death Metal, both Starfire and Cyborg get some new hardcore metal makeovers, including a fiery mohawk and sleeveless leather jackets respectively.
It doesn't take too long for the pair to get acclimated to the new world courtesy of an equally hardcore-looking Nightwing who gives them the low down of what the world has become as they travel to Brimstone Bay. Likewise, the trio of former Teen Titans also get to spend some much-appreciated time reconnecting as it's been a good while since they've all seen each other.
With Starfire and Cyborg getting added to the teams' ranks, the odds just got a little bit better for their overall success in destroying the throne. However, they did just wake up an army of Starros in a massive valley filled with them, so that's no doubt going to be an obstacle. Not only that, but the team is also hoping to find Martian Manhunter, who's trapped in the clutches of the Mindhunter, a dark Batman with J'onn Jonzz's same powers. Here's hoping the reunited Titans and their allies will be up to the challenge as Death Metal continues
