Overall, the response to Season 2 of their promise to improve defensive mechanics in Tekken 8, and actually made an already aggressive game even more oppressive. But this "emergency patch" may not be enough to satisfy some players.

In a post from the official Tekken X , the developers addressed community with Season 2 and have confirmed an "emergency patch" to address two major concerns. The first one is Paul Phoenix's Hammer of the Gods move, which resulted in a guaranteed follow-up even if the opponent blocks, which wasn't intended. The second is Jack-8's Jab Elbow into Make Some Noise, which left the opponent unable to interrupt the third hit when there was supposed to be a gap to allow for punishes. The patch to address these two characters is scheduled for mid to late April.

Beyond these two changes, the developers have assured that they are monitoring character behaviors and are going to make more adjustments and carefully review after the release of this new patch.

While the "emergency patch" will bring major fixes to Paul and Jack-8, as well as the previously promised adjustment to players getting punished for correctly breaking throws, Tekken 8's Season 2 has a long way to go. The majority of the massive 37-character roster is now super strong, and many of them may require adjustments to get the game to a place that fans will be happy with. It remains to be seen how long it will take to adjust other elements of Season 2.

The Tekken developers usually take quite seriously and aim to make the correct changes, so it seems likely that Tekken 8 will get to a better place eventually. It just might take a while.
