During their Fantasy Suite date, Kelsey was the first woman to tell Joey, "I love you."

The Bachelor season 28 finale was unprecedented because Joey's runner-up, Daisy Kent, self-eliminated during the final rose ceremony. She had gone to see Kelsey before it to tell her that she was leaving, and they rode together in the limousine, a first for the reality dating series. During The Bachelor season 28 "After the Final Rose" episode, Joey and Kelsey revealed that they're still happily engaged. The season wrapped filming on November 12, 2023, so they've been engaged for about four months, but they were unable to be seen in public. Although The Bachelor plans "Happy Couple Weekends," during which the couple meets up in secret before the season finale, Joey and Kelsey can now finally take their relationship to the real world.

During the "After the Final Rose" episode, Jesse Palmer informed Joey and Kelsey that the show was giving them the gift of a return trip to Jasper, Alberta, Canada, which was one of the cities where they had a one-on-one date. Kelsey and Joey also revealed that Joey would be moving to Kelsey's hometown of New Orleans. They then plan to move to New York City in the summer of 2024.

In an interview with People, Kelsey shared that she and Joey will most likely have a two- or three-year engagement. This matches what Joey had said on the show when Lexi Young self-eliminated because they were on different timelines. Kelsey itted that she doesn't know what she wants her wedding to look like, but she definitely wants all of her close friends and family there.

Kelsey said that she wants "a very timeless wedding," but she's not sure where it will be. Joey added that they "have no interest in putting it off, we just don't want to rush through it. We want it to be something that feels special together." Joey and Kelsey plan to have an engagement party during the summer in New Orleans. She gushed, "I'm excited to celebrate our love and for everyone to meet Joey."

Kelsey also revealed that she's always wanted to live in New York City, and Joey is ing her in that. She said, "We're young, and I think now is the time to live in a tiny, cramped apartment together and experience it. Even if we hate it, at least we can say we did it." Joey thinks it'll be fun to live in New York City because he's come to love it from the time that he's spent there. They plan to spend a year or two in the Big Apple. Kelsey and Joey also plan to have children. Kelsey predicted, "He's going to be an amazing father."
