Summary

  • Jonathan Majors' controversial interview resembles scenes from The Boys, leaving Twitter s skeptical about his sincerity.
  • Fans anticipate that The Boys will mock Majors' interview in future episodes, adding a satirical twist to the situation.
  • Many Twitter s are convinced that the interview is proof that The Boys has a completely accurate portrayal of American media.

The ments for a new interview with Jonathan Majors appear to borrow some PR strategies from The Boys. Once a rising star in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Creed III, Majors was involved in a domestic dispute in March that led to the actor being convicted of assault and harassment. Marvel Studios has since fired Majors, and his sentencing will take place on February 6. Since his guilty verdict, Majors will be giving an interview about the situation on GMA on January 8.

Jonathan Majors' ongoing controversy has been disastrous for his public persona, and he has been hoping to use the interview to share his side of the story. Twitter s, however, have been finding the ments somewhat disingenuous. Check out the reactions:

Twitter @imifaes thinks that Majors is acting like The Deep whenever he gives an on-air apology.

@GokuShill thinks that The Boys season 4 will need to parody Majors' interview.

@jotmanjotman felt like the scene could have been pulled from The Boys in the first place.

@drehorizon thinks that the writers of The Boys are already excited to parody the interview.

@zerowontmiss thinks that the interview could just be a promotional clip for The Boys in the first place.

@hernandy_s thinks that Homelander should be the one to take the starring role in the interview parody, rather than The Deep.

@E1der_AU thinks that this is just a way for the MCU to get Majors back to playing Kang, just as the Seven did with The Deep.

@Thando______ thinks that Majors' PR manager must be Ashley Barrett.

@Uchihaddy thinks that this is proof that The Boys truly understands American media.

Why Jonathan Majors' Interview Feels Like A Scene From The Boys

Kang (Jonathan Majors) scowls in Ant-Man and the Wasp Quantumania

Coming in the wake of a major controversy that could very well end Majors' career, the interview is an opportunity for him to tell his side of the story. What has been confounding audiences, however, is that Majors already had that chance in court. While some charges were dismissed, he was found guilty of reckless assault in the third degree and harassment in the second degree.

Jonathan Majors' departure from the MCU undoubtedly complicates things for Marvel Studios, and two scenes are not much more important in hindsight.

The ment for the interview also features some bizarre edits. When Majors is offered a chance to speak, he is shown wiping away tears, or else the clip cuts to another point in the interview. That is likely a consequence of ABC attempting to build suspense for the interview, but it can come across as disingenuous in the same way that The Deep often does in The Boys.

The Boys season 4 is set to premiere sometime in 2024 on Prime Video.

The very offer to interview Majors on a channel owned by Disney is also an odd choice. Disney owns Marvel Studios, which fired Majors. That presents an apparent conflict of interests. It bears similarities with Vaught firing The Deep, only to have him make apologies on channels owned by Vaught, before being welcomed back to the Seven. ABC conducting the interview truly makes it feel like a scene from The Boys season 4. Depending on what the rest of the interview looks like, it may be fresh material for the next season of The Boys.
