According to a new report, The Cleaning Lady season 5 is in serious doubt over at Fox. Debuting in January 2022 and based on an Argentinian drama, the story focuses on Thony De La Rosa (Daredevil actor Élodie Yung). Thony is a Cambodian-Filipino former surgeon and makes a living as a cleaning service worker alongside her sister-in-law. That all changes when she witnesses a murder and receives an offer to work within a criminal organization. Though the premise has proved durable, The Cleaning Lady season 5 is in doubt.

Offering an update on the programming slate at Fox, Deadline reports that The Cleaning Lady might not be renewed for season 5. The fourth installment, which debuted on March 25, has faced challenges and tragic circumstances. The show's male lead, Adan Canto, died of cancer in January 2024. It also has undergone creative changes and has brought on a new showrunner. The report notes that the Warner Bros. TV and Fox Entertainment co-production is on “shaky ground”, suggesting it will need to improve its ratings.
