The White Lotus season 3 finale was great, but including one more scene involving the Ratliff family would have made it even better. When the Ratliff family arrived in Thailand at the beginning of season 3, most of them were clearly not that interested in engaging in a week of wellness activities. However, wellness practices such as not using their phones for a week ended up being a blessing in disguise for Timothy, who found out he was being investigated by the FBI not long after he arrived at the White Lotus' luxury Thailand resort.

Since none of the Ratliff's had their phones throughout the week, no one but Timothy knew that they were potentially going to lose everything when they got home. To cope with this realization, Timothy resorts to taking The White Lotus season 3, episode 8, the Ratliff's all get their phones back and face their new reality.

Throughout The White Lotus season 3, Timothy learns that most of the of his family believe they wouldn't be able to survive if they weren't rich. This leads to him attempting to poison himself, Victoria, Saxon, and Piper, leaving only Lochlan alive. However, by the end of The White Lotus season 3, Timothy is confident that they can face the problems that will arise as a family. At the end of the season finale, the Ratliff's get their phones back and learn that they may now be poor, but the episode doesn't dedicate much time to their reactions.

While Lochlan believes he could survive without money and Saxon may surprisingly even handle the situation quite well now, this news would still come as a huge shock to all the of the Ratliff family. Despite this, instead of a few brief reaction shots, The White Lotus season 3 finale does not reveal how the Ratliff's will handle the situation. Instead, the season ends on a slightly more positive note for the family, as Timothy is now confident that they can all each other through the tough times ahead.

Since seasons of The White Lotus only depict events that happen while people are on vacation, it's possible that series creator Mike White decided not to focus on their reactions more because whatever happens when the Ratliff's get home will never actually be shown in the show. Therefore, their reactions are less important than Timothy finding peace at the end of The White Lotus season 3. This makes sense, but the payoff of Victoria having a meltdown after an entire season of Timothy stressing out could have been one of the best White Lotus scenes of the entire series.
