The 94-year-old June Squibb's new action movie, Thelma, has become a streaming success. Written, directed, and edited by Josh Margolin in their feature film debut, the 2024 action-comedy follows an elderly woman who falls victim to a phone scam and sets out to find the perpetrators with the help of her grandson and an elderly friend. June Squibb stars as the titular Thelma alongside Gladiator 2's Fred Hechinger, the late Richard Roundtree, Clark Gregg, Parker Posey, and Malcolm McDowell.

Now, June Squibb's new action movie has become a streaming success on Hulu. Thelma ranks seventh on Reelgood's chart of the Top 10 movies on all streaming platforms for the week of November 14–20. Thelma is certainly not a high-octane action movie, as it instead uses classic action movie tropes in clever and age-appropriate ways to deliver a fresh twist on movies like Mission: Impossible and cast an elderly grandmother as an unexpected action hero.
