Despite being one of the best-reviewed games of the year and quickly putting the franchise back on the map, the Silent Hill 2 remake found itself shut out at The Game Awards from all five of its nominated categories. Though I could understand it losing Best Narrative, considering it doesn't add too much to the original game's story, it having lost Best Audio Design and Best Score and Music feels the most disappointing, given Akira Yamaoka came back and expanded on his original score, and the audio team did a fantastic job creating a chilling soundscape for the game that wasn't just a retread of the original's.
