It has been confirmed by Catherine O'Hara, who played Gail in season 2, that The Last of Us season 3 will be the "Abby story." The season 2 finale set it up with its ending, as we switched back to Abby for her "Seattle Day One." However, with O'Hara's comments, I believe that The Last of Us season 3 will be entirely focused on Abby's story, not using Ellie as much as one would hope. While I'd like to see more of Ellie, I think Abby's motivations and story are intriguing, so I can't wait for season 3.
