Recently, Deadlock developers created an interesting solution to solve problems with players cheating by turning them into frogs. While timely for the Halloween season, it's also just a silly way to punish them and amuse other players, and I love to see developers make creative choices to prevent cheaters from ruining their games. While not so much "cheating," my favorite developer intervention is probably the Bovine Defense Force from The Witcher 3. Players used to kill cows over and over in White Orchard, an early level of the game, to get a headstart on Crowns, the game's currency. However, once the developers heard of the easy exploit, they introduced a level 27 Chort who would spawn and hunt down players for killing too many cows at once. Hilariously though, high-level players could just farm the cows and the Chorts, but it definitely taught new players a lesson.
