Many horror fans, myself included, were looking forward to the new "zookeeper tycoon" horror game, Zoochosis. Rife with body horror and terrifying imagery in its trailers, we were so excited about its launch. However, its reception has been lukewarm at best, and unfortunately for good reason. While the style, concept, and character models are well done, the plot is, unfortunately, too unbelievable. One of the most important aspects of sci-fi, fantasy, or fiction writing is for characters to still behave in a believable way. From the very opening, the main character, Paul, makes stupid decision after stupid decision. Who in their right mind would send meat for animal's food home to their family to eat? Not to mention his utter disinterest in discovering humans as the source of the meat, and zero reaction to becoming infected if harmed by a mutant. The outright idiocy of Paul repeatedly pulls players out of the world of the game, and ruins what could have been an otherwise unique creature feature.
