Sentry actor Lewis Pullman reveals how Taskmaster will die in Thunderbolts*, Antonia Dreykov actor Olga Kurylenko is the only Thunderbolt star missing from Avengers: Doomsday's cast.

In an exclusive interview with ScreenRant, Thunderbolts* star Lewis Pullman addresses his Avengers: Doomsday return. Pullman explains that Sentry's immense power won't make him an invincible character in the Avengers' battle against Doctor Doom, as "his biggest Achilles Heel is himself". Pullman also reveals that the Thunderbolts will have taken Sentry under their wing by then. Read Pullman's comments below.

ScreenRant: We're going to get to explore these characters a little bit more, hopefully, in Avengers: Doomsday. Knowing that Bob will carry over into Avengers: Doomsday, does that change how you think about his arc in Thunderbolts*, even if you didn't know it at the time?

Lewis Pullman: "Yes, it does. Definitely. And I'm really curious to see how. Obviously, he's such an intricate character because in many ways his biggest Achilles Heel is himself, so what does the future look like for a guy like that with that much power, but with also that kind of soft spot? It's a pretty big kind of weakness.

But now we also know that he has this help with the Thunderbolts*. They have taken him under their wing, and maybe there's a future there, where there's some sort of ability to control it or some sort of safety net there. So, I'm curious to see what that might look like."

How the Thunderbolts are able to defeat an almost invincible villain and his untouchable evil alter ego is one of Thunderbolts*' biggest mysteries. The Thunderbolts* trailers suggest Yelena Belova will dive into the Void to stop it from within, requiring her and possibly her teammates to overcome their respective trauma in order to remove the Void's presence from New York. Taking into Lewis Pullman's comments, the Thunderbolts will likely welcome a controlled Sentry into their ranks ahead of Avengers: Doomsday.

Sentry's Thunderbolts* suit has been revealed, and it makes an important story from the 2025 MCU movie even darker for Lewis Pullman's Marvel hero.

Thunderbolts* introduces a nearly unbeatable villain, but Sentry's nigh-invincibility may depend on the Void. Once the Thunderbolts defeat the Void, Robert Reynolds may retain his Sentry powers, but he may no longer be powerful enough to consume entire cities, and thus he will be a smaller threat to Doctor Doom. This change would be similar to the Hulk's, as Hulk was able to become an intergalactic gladiator in Thor: Ragnarok, but getting caught off-guard by Thanos vastly reduced his threat in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame.

Sentry Probably Won't Defeat Doctor Doom Through Sheer Force

Avengers: Doomsday's plot likely won't be a matter of power. Similarly to Hulk in Avengers: Infinity War and Captain Marvel in Avengers: Endgame, Sentry's power will probably have to be dialed back or restrained altogether in Avengers: Doomsday in order to keep the stakes high. Otherwise, Sentry and the Void would make most of the other Avengers: Doomsday heroes irrelevant. However, instead of removing Sentry's full powers or keeping him off-screen for most of the movie's screentime, Robert Reynolds might simply lose his Void powers and fear using his Sentry abilities.
