If you are looking to get the right answers in today's Connections puzzle, you may need a few tips and tricks to help you out as this one can be trickier than it appears. You will want to figure out exactly what is going on before you touch any buttons, but you may also find that there is one category where an extra bit of knowledge would help. Use my hints to get closer to the right categories, or move past them to the category names and spoilers to have a fast solution.

If you desire some extra puzzling time today, you should try out the daily Mini Crossword puzzle. It feels just like every other crossword puzzle in nature, but I prefer it because it is of a size that I can handle, and it lets me take a quick break from doing something else before going back. It is an enjoyable time, and while the puzzles are always unique, they give me the same feeling of satisfaction every time I go back and am able to solve it without looking up any of the clues.

If you are looking for some hints, this is the place for you. I had a hard time with two specific categories, and I wasn't sure what I was doing wrong. As it turned out, I was fairly close, but I just missed the right answers a number of times. That being said, I can now help you with the knowledge of where I went wrong in mind. I always like putting the hints together, and I think I've come up with some good ones to help you solve the puzzle today:

• One category is about four words that describe something that is almost used up
• One category is about four words that can describe a type of trip you might go on
• One category is about four different words used to describe a place that holds a certain event
• One category is about four proper names that are missing the same crucial part of them

If you are still looking for some way to get the rest of the puzzle unlocked, checking out the category names is a good idea. You can also follow up later with the spoilers if you need to, but I find knowing just the names is very helpful.

Yellow Answers: Revealed & Explained

This is actually one of the categories I struggled with, as to me the words meant something different when I was looking at them. For instance, I put TRADE with the majority of these words as opposed to REST because that was what my mind associated with them as I was solving the puzzle. I also thought BALANCE should go with HARMONY, so I tried to group BALANCE, DIFFERENCE, TRADE, and HARMONY at least twice. In the end, I was able to get extremely close to the right answer, but just not close enough for the win.

Green Answers: Revealed & Explained

I did get this category and nearly right away as I thought all of these words went together really well. I did accidentally hit a different word with my clumsy finger than I thought I did, which was my own fault and the result of poor balance more than anything. Still, the point remains that at one point in my life I wouldn't have wanted to just go on a DRIVE, mainly because we spent a lot of time traveling 12 hours in a car back-and-forth a lot. Now, however, I can see why they are a peaceful type of trip to many people.

Blue Answers: Revealed & Explained

This one confused me for a moment, but only a moment, as I searched for the last word in the category. I find it's very easy to let your eyes skip over something crucial in a Connections puzzle. However, it is easier to recognize your mistakes after a while, and it is nice to feel relief when you do find the last word you were looking for and can finish up a category without much trouble. It is much more frustrating, however, when you miss something that I did in the next category.

Purple Answers: Revealed & Explained

I don't think I would have gotten there in the end with this one, as even if I recognized the two easiest, BAY and HARMONY, for what they were, I don't know if I would have gotten the others. I do think I would have gotten TRADE, but I had no idea what "eink" was until I looked it up when the puzzle was over. It's unfortunate, but sometimes you just come across something new. It's why I'm here to help you with the ones you don't recognize!
