If you are struggling with today's Connections puzzle, you can check out these hints to help you make your way out of the gorge you are stuck in. It was not as complicated to me as I thought it would be, given that they usually take advantage of the big, important numbers. And today's puzzle number was in fact a big one. However, I was relieved that it didn't seem impossible to solve, but that doesn't mean it was easy, and I have the answers for you.

If you are looking for a different game to try today, you should check out the daily Strands puzzle. It is not usually a difficult puzzle, and you can get the hints you need by finding words that are already present in the puzzle that you will likely be guessing anyway. Once you find the clues and know the theme, you will be finding words left and right, and you should finish it up quite quickly. You will have to think a little outside the box, as letters can be in any direction.

If you are trying to solve a puzzle without much context, it will be much harder than without some to get you through. I think I got lucky with the categories for today, as they were all things I was well familiar with. That sometimes feels like it is cheating, but it's also sometimes a relief as you know something well enough that you are able to solve it instinctively. That being said, there were still some points where I stumbled, and here are my hints based on what I learned:

• One category is about something you can feel in your ears
• One category is about four things that span a long way
• One category is about four items you will need to decorate your house in a particular way
• One category is about four words that come after a different word in a phrase - that word is something on your body

If you still need some extra hints and tips today, you will want to check out the category names today. They will be quite helpful, although there are still the usual spoilers waiting for you when its all over.

Yellow Answers: Revealed & Explained

If things are starting to PULSE in your ears, you are probably on the right track. I saw POUND and PULSE nearly right away, and I was able to start working on it fast. I hear my PULSE in my ears a lot when I'm trying to sleep, actually, which can be very annoying. But it does make it a lot easier to guess this whole category. My decade of music experience also helped, so that was why I got a little lucky on this one.

Green Answers: Revealed & Explained

I got this one second, and I was pretty pleased with my results. The one place where I stumbled was with the word HILLS. I was fairly certain that we were talking about some kind of geological feature, but I was convinced it was more mountain-related for a moment. I did miss a guess with HILLS instead of CAPE, but once I got it wrong, I was able to correct it very quickly. My luck here was based on my obsession with geology in elementary school.

Blue Answers: Revealed & Explained

If you are looking for things to hang up a picture or a poster, these are the four items you will need the most. Having moved an absurd number of times in my life, I have hung many pictures and many photos, and this has made me very aware of the items I need to do it. This made me feel quite lucky with this category as well, even if the circumstances for knowing that information were a little less lucky.

Purple Answers: Revealed & Explained

This one I might have gotten eventually, but because of the familiarity I had with all of the other categories, I didn't spend a lot of time looking at these words. It all makes sense to me now that I see it. I did feel very fortunate on this one altogether, but I know that won't be the case for everyone as this puzzle felt oddly catered to a lot of my interests. There will soon be a puzzle where that is very much not the case.
