Tom Cruise is a versatile Hollywood star for many reasons, and a hot sauce connoisseur has now been added to the list. For years, the actor has been a chameleon of sorts, seamlessly transitioning between blockbuster movies and artistic, award-winning dramas. He got his start playing a ing role in Endless Love in 1981 and then transitioned into a packed '80s slate that included blockbuster films like Risky Business and Top Gun. He got more serious attention when he played Charlie in Rain Man and was nominated for his first Academy Award for Born on the Fourth of July.
This year, Cruise will lean into blockbusters with the Mission: Impossible franchise will supposedly wrap up the story of Ethan Hunt and his crew. This, Cruise and the cast have been sharing personal behind-the-scenes stories about filming and doing the dangerous stunts. Now, one of his co-stars has revealed an interesting new fact that's going viral.
Hayley Atwell Just Revealed Tom Cruise Had A Special Hot Sauce Made
It Sounds Intense
In a recent interview with IMDb, Hayley Atwell, who portrays Grace, revealed that Cruise eats a special kind of hot sauce. This came up in conversation while she was explaining what items she stole from the set of Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning. Some of those items included an ashtray and a watch. The most prized and hyper-specific item, however, is Cruise's hot sauce. Atwell explained that Cruise had gotten a restaurant to make him a custom hot sauce when "the spices that they had were not strong enough." She elaborates below:
"Last night over dinner I stole a bottle of Tom's hot sauce. The restaurant had built, they had made a hot sauce for him, because the spices that they had were not strong enough. So they made this concoction that kind of blew his head off, which was delicious. And a beautiful bottle with a pipette. So I just pocket that at the end of the meal. I kind of have taken it [her role as Grace] a little bit too literally."
Now, this was not just any extra spicy hot sauce. This was serious business, as the bottle of hot sauce came with a "pipette" to dole out portions of the capsaicin-dense product. Now, even as a hot sauce lover myself — who has been handed gloves to eat particularly spicy items — this sounds like one of the most intense hot sauce recipes that I've heard of in a while. Even if the sauce "blew his head off," it seems that Cruise enjoyed the overwhelming condiment.
The Tom Cruise Hot Sauce Story Is Exactly What I Want From This Movie Star
Even When He Eats, He Turns Up The Heat
Though Cruise's love of hot sauce is not something that has been talked about as frequently before, it is not shocking that the star might have an aptitude for the spicy. As a performer, he is known for dialing things up to the max. While many stars of his caliber (and age) get stunt doubles to carry out the tough moments in their action films, one of Cruise's signature traits is that he does his own stunts. This has led to some cinematic and risky moves, including scaling the Burj Khalifa, holding his breath underwater for an extended time, and hanging off the side of an airplane.

Every Mission: Impossible 1996 Action Scene & Tom Cruise Stunt, Ranked
The original Mission: Impossible movie may not be filled with massive stunts, but there are several impressive moments that have held up brilliantly.
His latest franchise film is no exception. The actor's latest portrayal will see him take on serious stunt work, including a wingwalking scene that has been highly publicized in the Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning trailers. In a recent interview, director Christopher McQuarrie said that it was terrifying to watch Cruise perform this, as he was "starting to lose strength rapidly." Even as the action star gets older, it seems that the stunts keep getting bigger.
The hot sauce story is, thus, exactly what I would expect from a thrill-seeker like Cruise. It seems to me that the actor wants an adrenaline rush everywhere he goes. As such, it seems like the 62-year-old actor might not be backing down from his stunts any time soon, even as he ages. But after this, I really hope to see Cruise do a Hot Ones interview — should he choose to accept.
