After the release of the previous remakes in the series, many players are probably curious if Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 will have crossplay . Part of the fun of revisiting the Pro Skater games is to relive the experience of sitting around with friends and shredding, accompanied by songs like Goldfinger’s Superman. Online multiplayer lets you take this to the next level, and play with up to seven friends, but cross-platform play can be a make or break for some groups.
As someone who is eagerly awaiting Baldur’s Gate 3’s Patch 8, so I can finally play with my friends who have the console version, I get why crossplay is such a big deal. One exciting prospect of the Microsoft-Activision merger is that the Tony Hawk games could come to Game , but one big thing stands in the way.
Like the previous remake, Pro Skater 3 + 4’s multiplayer can up to eight players. The game will also have a host of new locations and skaters. Sadly, it doesn’t look like Star Wars’ Jango Fett will be returning to Pro Skater 4, but we are still getting the Doom Slayer and a Revenant from the Doom series in his place.

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 Didn’t Feature Crossplay
Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 is a change of pace from the previous Pro Skater remakes in of crossplay. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 did not launch with the feature, nor was it added later. This was a big disappointment with the first remake, so I’m happy to see that Iron Galaxy and Activision decided to add crossplay this time around.
The Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater franchise was a staple during my childhood, and I’ve enjoyed getting to revisit the games in a new and polished form. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 only enhances the experience by adding crossplay, because it will now be easier to play with friends and relive the magic of trying to coordinate tricks, or getting in each other’s way while trying to grind the same rail. In general, it’s nice to see developers listening to fans and adding in a feature like crossplay in a subsequent release.
