Aries are well known for their qualities of ambitions, headstrong, and motivated to be the best. Many Aries are good people to surround yourself with if you can keep up. But when an Aries uses their powers and qualities for not so good things, it could be a bad day for everyone.
Besides being favored, Aries also have some bad qualities that arent so favored, things like their impulsive decisions, their inability to finish last, and their impatience. Looking at our favorite tv shows, let's look at all the bad guys that have Aries qualities.
Daenerys Targaryen - Game Of Thrones (2010-2019)
Dany wasn't always a villain in the show, in fact, she didn't succumb to villany until the very last season of Game of Thrones. Despite her slow turn, she always displayed some Aries qualities, both good and bad.
Like a true Aries, she was extremely confident in herself and her ethic that she managed to build up an army and a respectable empire that rivaled the Iron throne. She was also very bold, her confidence oftentimes was all she needed to gain followers and worshippers. Unfortunately, she also had some of the bad qualities of an Aries, her impulsiveness. This is what ultimately led to her downfall.
Joffrey Baratheon - Game Of Thrones (2010-2019)
Staying on the popular HBO show, Joffrey was a villain through and through, from his introduction to his untimely death. Joffrey was one of the worst characters on the show, a spoiled, entitled brat with no patience and an impulsive temper.
He's assertive, violent and he is prone to throwing fits when he doesn't get his way, which makes him a dangerous ruler and an Aries you don't want to mess with.
Malcolm Merlyn - Arrowverse
Malcolm Merlyn basically survived off his willpower and desperation to see his plan follow-through, which is textbook Aries. He can keep his impulses in check but his determination and willingness to do anything to see his plans come to fruition make him a dangerous and worthy foe.
Malcolm is a charmer, although he's a genuine bad guy he still manages to get people to trust him and follow his lead. He manages to even get Oliver to trust him. He has a way of exuding confidence that only an Aries could do.
Merle Dixon - The Walking Dead (2010-)
No matter how many times we thought he was finally dead, he always found a way to come back. Due to his sheer determination alone, Merle was able to survive being handcuffed to a roof and even managed to be a leader for a small community.
He's cocky, so often mistreating and talking down to his brother, and he only does what he wants and what benefits him.
Squilliam Fancyson - Spongebob (1999-)
He's charming, handsome, and he's Squidward's arch-nemesis. Squilliam excels at just about everything Squidward worlds at and he never wastes a moment rubbing it in his face.
His competitive nature and uncanny ability to attract others despite his nasty attitude, Squilliam is a true Aries.
Lex Luthor - Arrowverse
The next villain needs no introduction. As one of the most popular villains in all of pop culture, Lex Luthor is guaranteed to show up in a Superman-themed show. Like the Lex in the comics, the Arrowverse Lex only has one goal, and that is to rid the world of Superman and show the world they can live on just fine without him.
He's boastful, resourceful, and he will do anything to see his plans through, even if that means innocent lives being at stake. And like true Lex Luthor fashion, it's usually his arrogance getting the best of him that leads to his downfall.
Justin Foley - 13 Reasons Why (2016-)
Although Justin in the third season is technically a good guy, it doesn't stop him from being a questionable figure. He lets his girlfriend get assaulted by his friend, he betrays and lies to Clay on several occasions, and he abuses drugs.
What makes Justin an Aries is that he always has to get things done his way, even if that means being ruthless and he gravitates towards what he knows best, like sports and girls. He struggles to ask for help because his pride often doesn't let him.
Marina Andriedski - The Magicians (2015-2020)
Marina always has some tricks up her sleeve and she really can't be trusted at all. She always has ulterior motives an only really agrees to help when it benefits her or she can find a way to mess with the rest of the Magicians.
She's careless, smart, determined to live her life with unlimited magic. Her impulses are what got her killed and at odds with the rest of the crew. A true Aries, Marina is arrogant about her skills and reluctant to have competition.
Pat Rollins - Raising Dion (2019-)
Pat Rollins through us all off with the big reveal towards the end of the first season of Raising Dion. Coming off as a loving and harmless uncle figure to Dion with an obvious crush to Nicole (Dion's mom). As the show progresses, we see Pat take an obsession with Nicole and we slowly start to see that his plan all along had been to take Dion's powers without being detected.
It turns out he had been the big bad the whole time but did a great job covering up his tracks and keeping from being detected. His overly ambitious goals and his inability to keep in his secret longer not only made it difficult to win but also makes him a true Aries.
Dr. Zoe Smith - Lost In Space (2018-)
Throughout her tenure on the show, Dr.Smith only had one goal, and that was to start a new life as a psychiatrist. Although about 90% of what she does is to protect herself, she has been known to be a good leader that stays calm under pressure and reassures those she's leading.
She's resourceful, always looking a the bigger picture and convinced that her way is the best way to live her life.
