Topps has another tie-in coming, and this time it involves what changes have been made to the 2002 classic, themed tie-ins have already started for the live-action remake. Topps' drop includes trading cards, which also have four chase variants featuring crossover posters. Given how much love people have shown for Stitch for the last 20+ years, it makes sense why he'd get a high-profile release like this.

The live-action Lilo & Stitch remake is here, and based on initial reviews, things are looking good regarding its word of mouth. Stitch has massive star power by himself, but he'll have a little help from his cast , including Zach Galifianakis, Courtney B. Vance, Hannah Waddingham, and Tia Carrere, among others, as they try to take down Tom Cruise and Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. While this big box office battle is taking place, Topps has a 72-hour trading card drop, all tying into the aforementioned alien.

Here's What The Topps Lilo & Stitch Drop Entails

Lilo & Stitch's Rotten Tomatoes Score Is A Much-Needed Win For Disney After Years Of Live-Action Remake Turmoil

Many of Disney's live-action remakes have struggled critically and commercially in recent years, but Lilo & Stitch is the win that Disney needed.

Topps has been working with Disney quite a bit this year, as they've featured drops with Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm characters, including Mickey Mouse, Buzz Lightyear, Spider-Man, and Darth Vader. Topps notes that for the Lilo & Stitch set, there are numbered chase cards in tiers of /99, /50, /25, /10, /5, and 1-of-1.

Stitch Has A Habit Of Crossing Over With Other Franchises

He Just Can't Help Himself

Each variant involves a crossover poster from various Disney classics, including Snow White, Cinderella, Aladdin, and Beauty & The Beast. This isn't just a reference to the advertising campaign for the remake. Disney had a running gag in 2002 where Stitch invaded other Disney movies for promos. It was a campaign that included Mulan, Pinocchio, and The Lion King, in addition to the others already mentioned. For some of its more absurd meta humor, Stitch has been the go-to for Disney, and that's coming back to roost with this Topps crossover.

Stitch couldn't be contained by just feature films, either. He's crossed over with the Kim Possible, American Dragon: Jake Long, Proud Family, and Recess TV shows. His legacy has extended far beyond just one movie, with multiple sequels and shows. He's also prominently displayed in multiple Disney parks across the world.
