The Energon Universe has already taken the comics world by storm, and now, Skybound’s popular imprint is officially getting their own Transformers toys from Hasbro. Additionally, the cast of the original Energon title Void Rivals are also receiving their very own action figures this summer, released in a three-pack with the Transformer Jetfire as an exclusive at this year’s SDCC.

According to Comicbook.com, the new set of toys was shown off at this year’s Toy Fair as a part of Hasbro’s Transformers offerings. The San Diego Comic Con exclusive set will include an 11-inch, transforming Jetfire based on his appearance in Void Rivals, as well as two 3.75-inch figures of main characters Darak and Solila.

What makes the set especially cool is that both Darak and Solila are made in the style of the classic G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero action figure line, with an O-ring waist t and their own “swivel-arm battle grip.”

Included in the three-pack is also an exclusive version of Void Rivals #1, with an exclusive cover by artist Marcelo Matere. With the three figures included, fans will be able to recreate the Skybound had acquired the Transformers and G.I. Joe licenses from Hasbro. It’s fitting that these three characters would be the first action figures made for the Energon Universe, as that moment will go down as one of the greatest surprises in comic book history.

Hopefully, this means there are more Energon Universe toys and collectibles on the way. Transformers recently debuted a Baroness’ new garb as a member of G.I. Joe.

Hasbro Has Incentive To Make More Energon Universe Toys

Skybound Has Given The Toy Company Plenty Of Options

While the set is exclusive to SDCC for now, if the demand is high enough, there’s always the possibility that all three figures will find their way to fans via outlets like Hasbro Pulse. With any luck, Hasbro will produce more figures based on Void Rivals, as the old Transformers character Skuxxoid has become quite the fan-favorite in the Energon Universe’s only original property. The alien bounty hunter has never gotten a single toy, so now would be the perfect time to immortalize Skuxxoid in plastic; hopefully, the Void Rivals/Transformers three-pack is just the first of many Energon Universe toys.
