Marvel’s preview for Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion #1, written by Deniz Camp and Cody Ziglar, with art by Jonas Scharf, recaps Miles’ initial meeting with the Ultimate Universe’s evil version of Reed Richards. The Maker gave Miles a blank card that the hero thought was useless, but Miles’ baby sister Billie accidentally activates what turns out to be a key to Earth-6160.

Though Miles tries to rescue her, he’s just too late, and Billie Morales is officially astray in the alternate universe. As Spider-Man searches the universe for his sister, he’ll have to fend off the world’s frightening lineup of villains.

It would be bad enough if Spider-Man lost Billie somewhere on Earth-616, but now the young hero is forced to try to find his little sister in a hazardous universe that’s totally unfamiliar to both of them. To make matters even worse, the dimensional portal the siblings were just transported through was created and gifted to Miles by one of the most sinister villains in the entire Marvel Multiverse. Miles’ baby sister Billie has been put in peril plenty since she debuted in 2019, but never under such dangerous circumstances as the situation that kick-starts Incursion.

With the announcement of Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion, and the prelude to the story in Free Comic Book Day 2025: Ultimate Universe/Amazing Spider-Man, it has been known that Billie is the catalyst for Miles’ journey into the alternate world. However, it’s still pretty disturbing to see the beloved Morales family baby put in such a precarious situation. The final moments of the preview show Billie sitting outside, and it’s quite alarming that a mysterious off- voice has already found her while Miles is nowhere to be seen. The voice could be coming from any of the universe’s heroes or villains.

Marvel’s Most Fearsome Villains Are Lurking

Whether it’s the Maker, or the characters that make up his council of villains that run the world, Marvel’s Ultimate line has introduced some major threats that rank the Ultimate Universe among the scariest places to be in the multiverse. The Ultimate Universe’s villains are seriously menacing, keeping the world’s civilians under their thumb and killing some of Earth’s Mightiest Heroes. Even powerful heroes Black Bolt and Sentry are confirmed dead in the universe. The world would already be dangerous for Miles to be stuck in, but Billie disappearing into the universe truly sets up terrifying stakes for the young hero.

The Maker is about to make a comeback as a result of the event, and it seems that he or somebody working for him could unfortunately be the one to have found Billie in the issue’s preview. Ultimate Spider-Man: Incursion is also set to feature a hotly-anticipated face-off between Miles Morales and Spot, the villain that threatened the Morales family in the 2023 animated film Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse. If Marvel Comics is about to introduce Earth-6160’s version of Spot, they could be the one that tries to kidnap Billie in another effort to antagonize Spider-Man in an all-new universe.

Miles Needs To Save His Sister...And Maybe The Multiverse

Miles’ life started in the first version of an Ultimate Universe, on Earth-1610, before he made the permanent move to Marvel’s main continuity. Over fourteen years of adventures in Marvel Comics, Miles has faced some challenging threats, but none are more serious and emotional than his baby sister being put in universe-shattering danger. As Spider-Man travels through the alternate world in search of Billie, he’ll have to team up with the universe’s other heroes if he wants to successfully find her in this unfamiliar environment. Luckily, the universe has introduced some powerful characters that can help the hero.

It’s already been teased that Miles will be thankfully teaming up with Ultimate Marvel's two Spider-Men, the father-son duo of Peter and Richard Parker, in his quest to rescue his sister. Though Miles has had some serious power-ups recently, he’ll still need all the help he can get if the Maker, any of his sinister agents, or other threats have captured his sister. As Miles Morales takes an unexpected journey through the Ultimate Universe, with his baby sister’s life on the line, his version of Spider-Man may be facing the most consequential crossover event in his entire career.
