Marvel’s Hugh Jackman’s live-action look in the MCU.

Adding to the growing number of Ultimate Wolverine cosplays created by the community, Jo Jo Cruz (@just_.j0j0) has shared multiple comic-accurate designs on his Instagram, with his custom costumes showcasing characters from both Marvel and DC Comics, as well as the world of video games — Mortal Kombat and Fallout, specifically.

Creating professional-quality costumes that put real Hollywood productions to shame, Jo Jo has embodied DC’s Red Robin, Red Hood, Black Mask, and even Red X, with his Marvel designs, like a black and yellow-suited Wolverine, Punisher, Mr. Knight, and Mr. Fantastic, showing the range of Jo Jo’s incredible talent.

Officially designated as Earth-6160, Marvel’s second Ultimate Universe shares similarities with what came before while still managing to create something wholly unique to itself, with Wolverine getting a near complete and total overhaul in the pages of Ultimate Wolverine by Chris Condon and Alessandro Cappuccio. Captured and experimented on by the Eurasian Republic’s Directorate X rather than Canada’s Weapon X program, Logan’s past is mostly still a mystery in this alternate universe, with Wolverine acting as this reality’s Winter Soldier, complete with a completely new red and black costume that Jo Jo expertly brings to life in his cosplay design.

Wearing a highly textured version of Ultimate Wolverine’s mask that acts as the perfect iterative design to Hugh Jackman’s Deadpool and Wolverine cowl, Jo Jo looks worse for wear in the following photo as he takes a breather in between seconds of battle. Next seen with bloody claws unsheathed as he readies himself for another wave of attackers, the final two photos create a splash page-esque image of Ultimate Wolverine standing his ground in a way that only Wolverine knows how, with the quality of this cosplay giving fans hope that Jackman could replicate this look on the big screen.

While it’s unlikely fans will get a true live-action version of Marvel’s Ultimate Universe, let alone Directorate X’s take on Wolverine, the MCU could always cherry-pick this reality’s best concepts and designs — as it previously did with the original Ultimate Universe — with the recently delayed Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars being the perfect places to debut an Ultimate Wolverine costume for Jackman. Furthermore, since Deadpool and Wolverine finally put Hugh Jackman into a comic-accurate blue and yellow Wolverine suit and had him portray other deep-cut versions of the character, there’s no reason Ultimate Wolverine couldn’t make a cameo next!
