Universal Studios Orlando is getting into the supervillain business with the launch of Minion Land. The area is located on Universal Studios Orlando’s Illumination Avenue, which celebrates the work the animation studio has done crafting family-friendly stories since it was founded by Chris Meledandri in 2007. While the Minions have been featured in rides at Universal Studios before, Minion Land ramps up their park presence in the same way the Minions themselves took over pop culture.
Minions became something of an overnight sensation when the lovable characters first debuted in the 2010 film Despicable Me. After that, the yellow humanoid-ish henchmen became famous in their own right, eventually warranting a series of Minions spinoff films. Now, families can endure the wait for Despicable Me 4 a little more easily by visiting the Minions in the real world.
