Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 has already met with immense success, but there's a lot more content on the way. A sequel to the original Space Marine, this latest installment in the video game sector of the Warhammer franchise boasts alien-annihilating action across single-player and co-op story missions, as well as a 6v6 multiplayer mode. Players control of the iconic Space Marine faction as they fight deadly Tyranids across a perilous galaxy.

Owing to Warhammer's prevalence, the success of the first Space Marine game, and the general popularity of co-op third-person shooters, it's easy to see why Space Marine 2 has met with a warm reception. It clearly aims to maintain that popularity in the coming years, with multiple DLCs planned, alongside a great deal of seasonal content. Here's what Space Marine 2's roap says about its future.

Some of the changes announced for Season 2 have already been released in update 4.0, and although its changes to Space Marine 2's difficulty were controversial, it's safe to say the steady stream of new content has already begun. Future seasonal content will be available to all who have purchased the game at no additional fee.

The next year or so of Space Marine 2 is broken up into three seasons. Season 2 is expected to run through the end of 2024, introducing its final free update - the Neo-Volkite pistol weapon - by December. Season buyers are also expected to get the Dark Angels cosmetic DLC, focusing on that chapter of the Space Marines, before the end of the year.

Afterward, Season 3 will begin in early 2025. During the first half of 2025, all players can expect to see a new PvE mission, a new PvP game mode and map, a new type of enemy, and a new section of the Battle Barge. The exact details of all this new content are still unknown. Players will also be able to prestige in PvP mode, resetting their progress in exchange for a badge of honor. Season holders will receive Champion Packs for two different Space Marine chapters, as well as cosmetics and weapon skins for one of the two.
