When Chuck Turner began his weight-loss journey on his 2014 episode of My 600-Lb Life, he was 45 years old and 693 pounds, and there's plenty to catch up on since his time on one of the best reality TV shows. The Beaumont, Texas resident's relationship with his wife Nissa was strained - they were more like a caretaker and a patient than a husband and wife. Chuck revealed that he wasn't overweight as a child - he started to gain weight after age 30. His first wife was murdered in 2006, and he turned to food to deal with his depression.

Chuck later married Nissa, and they eventually underwent weight loss surgery after seeking help from the renowned weight loss surgeon Dr. Younan Nowzaradan, known as Dr. Now. When Nissa felt that Chuck was not ive of her, and took out his anger on her, she left him. This helped Chuck to turn his life around so that he could win her back.

As he underwent surgery to have a massive lymphedema removed from his leg, Nissa came back to him, and they reconciled. At the end of Chuck's My 600-Lb Life episode, after a year, he weighed 343 pounds and had lost 350 pounds. While he won't be featured on My 600-Lb Life season 12, there's still curiosity about what happened to Chuck after the show.

In 2015, a My 600-Lb Life: Where Are They Now? episode revealed that Chuck was able to maintain a healthy weight. Although he had a setback during which he gained back 20 pounds, he got back on track. When he reached the two-year mark of working with Dr. Now, he hit his goal of 250 pounds - in fact, he weighed less - 243 pounds. His next goal was 200 pounds, which was his final target weight. At the end of his My 600-Lb Life episodes, Chuck had lost 450 pounds total.

Although Chuck was devastated, he began going out with his friends and being more social. He had been living like a hermit when he was at his heaviest. Chuck also began attending church regularly, where he found a sense of community.

In his My 600-Lb Life: Where Are They Now? episode, Chuck shared that his friends set him up on a blind date with a woman named Erica. He gushed that it was love at first sight for him. Erica said that they both felt that God brought them together. Chuck and Erica got married. He called her the greatest blessing in his life and said she was his second chance, vowing to do it right this time. He promised to be the man he needed to be, keep the weight off, and reach his goals.

However, as of 2024, Chuck's relationship status on Facebook says, "Divorced." Because he shares posts regularly, it can be assumed that his page is updated, so he is most likely now divorced from Erica. Given his pinned post from September 2023, which reads, "It is sad that a 60-year-old woman acts younger than my 11-year-old with all the childish games there is a lot of men and women that act like that best thing to do is run fast and dont look back," it's fair to say he is still heartbroken.

Chuck Shares His Emotional Progress

With several unsuccessful relationships behind him, Chuck is now more focused than ever on working on himself. Chuck’s public comments regarding his ex-wives indicate that the relationship was not good for either partner. For this reason, the subsequent splits seemed to be good choices for everyone involved. Fortunately, those who are interested in Chuck’s progress following My 600-Lb Life can keep tabs on him on social media.

Chuck regularly posts on his Facebook, reminding ive fans of the incredible hurdles that he has overcome, and the impossible feats that he has singlehandedly accomplished. Among these posts, he shares inspirational quotes that imply he's grown stronger after spending some time alone. Periods of self-reflection, and the opportunity to strengthen non-romantic relationships, have enabled Chuck to identify what went wrong in previous relationships.

Chuck took to Facebook to share several posts reminding his followers of his viewpoint. One post reads, “People think that being alone makes you lonely, but I don’t think that’s true. Being surrounded by the wrong people is the loneliest thing in the world.” He is quick to point out that, while he is currently single, he prefers the absence of a partner over a toxic relationship.

Chuck shared another quote with a similar theme which reads, “Don’t force yourself to fit in where you don’t belong.” While the difficulties that he and his previous partners had faced presented insurmountable challenges, it seems as though the relationships were valuable lessons in self-realization.

Chuck has come out of this stronger than ever. He may not have eliminated the prospect of another partner completely, but he doesn’t seem to be actively seeking one at the moment. Chuck seems to recognize that what is meant to be will be, and that pushing for something unobtainable won’t get him very far.

My 600-Lb Life: Where Are They Now? revealed that Chuck's business, Turner Wrecker Service, thrived after he focused on it when he lost weight. Chuck had been turning down a lot of business because he was too heavy to do the job. Now, instead of relying on his competitors to help him, Chuck can climb up on the flatbed truck to do his work. At the time, Chuck wanted to expand his business and hire people to keep up with the work. Chuck's Facebook page indicates that he is still in business in 2024.

Chuck's My 600-Lb Life journey was difficult and, at times, heartbreaking. He lost Nissa and Nathan but was able to rebuild his life and find new love again. Although it might not have lasted, it showed him it was possible to live again. Chuck should be proud of what he accomplished. His story is inspiring and can help others achieve their goals.
