EDITOR'S NOTE: This article is for Wordle answer #237; the February 12th Wordle answer is available now.
The February 11th recent acquisition by the New York Times, some players were worried about Wordle keeping its free-to-play status. The move to the new owners has happened with the only notable change so far being the title font.
Wordle starts with a 5x6 grid of empty boxes, players are to guess a randomized five-letter word within the six guesses. When the starting word is entered the game will provide information by highlighting certain letters green if they are correct, yellow if they are correct but in the wrong spot, or grey if they are not in the word at all. Using these simple hints players can adjust their next guess to help discern the correct answer. Wordle also has a 'Hard Mode' which can be turned on in the options screen and prevents players from using previous letters that have been proven incorrect or moving correct letters to a different space.
The popularity of Wordle can easily be traced to its social media sharing function. After a game has been won or lost, players can click the 'Share' button provided to copy their attempt and paste it into their favorite social media. The game hides the actual words used and replaces them with colored emoji boxes that track the journey to the correct answer. This simple addition to the game caused a flurry of people looking up the game in attempts to decipher what these random boxes mean that are littering their timelines.

For today's game, we used the starting word ROAST, this led to a single misplaced letter and a large chunk of incorrect ones. We followed it up with CRIME, giving a few more incorrectly placed letters. The next word used was PERCH continuing the streak of misplaced letters, and adding to the pool of incorrect ones.
