February 18th brings players another great Wordle word to guess. Wordle is a once-a-day word-guessing game that gained popularity at the beginning of 2022 due to its simple gameplay and one-a-day puzzles. The game has players guessing a random five-letter word within six attempts.
Wordle is played on a 5x6 grid and players start the game by using a random starting word. Wordle will provide information with each guess by highlighting certain letters green if they are correct, yellow if they are correct but in the wrong spot, or grey if they are not in the word at all. With this information, players continue guessing until the correct word is found, or they run out of chances. Wordle also provides a 'Hard Mode' which can be turned on in the options menu. This mode locks letters into place based on the information given, so a letter that has already been used and proven incorrect cannot be used in any future guesses.
Wordle's popularity can be traced back to its simple, yet effective, social media sharing ability. When a Wordle puzzle is completed, players will be offered the option to 'share' their success, or failure. The game shows off the player's Wordle journey by using small colored emoji boxes that represent each word guessed. This is the perfect way to show how a player did without spoiling the answer for others. These little boxes littered people's social media timelines and only added more players over time.

Wordle 244 Answer (February 18)
If the clues didn't give it away, the February 18th Wordle answer is DODGE. For today's answer, we used the starting Wordle word ROAST, this only provided the correct placement of 'O' and took away a few standard letters. The next word used was BOING, giving away a misplaced 'G'. The next two guesses really only provided more unusable letters as we tried FOGGY and COUGH. LODGE was the fifth guess and luckily there was really only one word left for our last guess.
The stress of getting to that final guess in Wordle keeps the excitement of the game going, as no one wants to ruin their streak.
