EDITOR'S NOTE: This article is for Wordle answer #318; the May 4th Wordle answer is available now.
May 3rd has another ambiguous little colored emoji boxes indicating a player's journey through their daily attempt. The social posts might have slowed down in recent months, but the game itself is still very much popular with word game enthusiasts.
Today's Wordle word could be used in different ways and actually has two different definitions. One of them is much more common than the other, but both are used in modern speech. One of the best aspects of the game is the way it teaches players new words and how they are used. It's hard to complete an uncommon Wordle word without then looking up the definition. April 7th's FORAY is a good example, which is an attack or a raid on enemy territory, that same day the word was trending in Google searches as players began looking up its meaning. Today's word may not need to be searched after solving, but will still provide a good challenge for players to guess quickly.

Today's Wordle Answer (May 3rd #318)
The May 3rd Wordle answer is HAIRY.
Today's answer is definitely a common word, however, these can often be the more difficult words to solve. For today's starting Wordle guess we used ROAST, which provided two incorrectly placed letters, 'A' and 'R'. We made an error by guessing the second word, GRAIN. This accidentally left the 'A' in the wrong spot but did provide another incorrectly placed letter, 'I'. Our third guess was FAIRY, which gave us multiple correctly placed letters and set up the fourth and final guess, HAIRY.
Nothing too difficult but still took four guesses to solve, oftentimes that is the way with Wordle.
