A new day is dawning, and a new Wordle words that end in 'ING' or 'ED' can cause lots of trouble for players as there are too many options to choose from.
Some players prefer a more difficult time in their puzzles, and for those people, Wordle has a Hard Mode that can be activated through the options menu before starting a game. This mode simply locks in previous hints and forces the player to utilize the clues given. If a letter has already been proven correct, or correct in the wrong spot, it must be used in subsequent guesses. The same with letters shown to be incorrect, they are locked out of the keyboard and players will no longer have access to them. This stops people from using different combo words just to establish a lot of information right off the bat, but can help with the number of guesses used since the game now requires more critical thinking and less guesswork.
Today's Wordle Hints (July 12th #388)
For those players who just want a small push in the right direction, here are the daily hints, followed by today's fully spoiled Wordle answer.
- Hint 1: There are no repeated letters in today's answer.
- Hint 2: This Wordle word is used often to describe when it's dark outside.
- Hint 3: This word can also be repeated twice when wishing someone a good sleep in the evening.
Today's Wordle Answer (July 12th #388)
The July 12th Wordle answer is NIGHT.
An incredibly common word that, hopefully, didn't cause too many players much trouble. For our starting Wordle word, we used IRATE which provided an 'I' and a 'T' in some incorrect positions, as well as a good chunk of wrong letters. This led to our second guess GLINT which set up the rest of the game nicely by providing 'G' and 'N' in incorrect spots, another incorrect location for 'I' and the correct placement of the 'T'. Knowing where 'I' can't be helped us work out the correct answer and gave us a Wordle win in three with NIGHT. These simpler days can be nice buffered between the harder puzzles that the game provides as it's always nice to have a quick win and feel satisfied at the start of the day.
