Today's Wordle Answer (October 22nd #490)
The October 22nd Wordle answer is SPIEL.
Surprisingly, today's answer didn't take as long as it probably should have, the 'IE' combination is more often used at the end of a five-letter word so seeing it's middle placement here helped out quite a bit. For our starting Wordle word, we used IRATE which set us up with the two vowels right away, just in the wrong place. Our follow-up guess was BEING which only placed the 'I' and gave us another incorrect location for 'E'.
In our third attempt, we tried to shuffle things around a bit and went with PLIED, this provided the correct spot for the 'E' and added in two incorrectly placed letters, 'P' and 'L'. After this, the letters just fell into their correct positions, there really weren't too many options left based on the previous clues. SPIEL was used as our fourth guess and gave us a Wordle win-in-four on this chilly October morning.
