EDITOR'S NOTE: This article is for Wordle answer #492; the October 25th Wordle answer is available now.
October 24th has a brand new Wordle word for players to solve and today's answer doesn't have any sneaky tricks up its sleeve. These straightforward answers are always a nice pallet cleanser after a tougher day's puzzle. The multiple uses of a single letter yesterday sent some people up the wall trying to solve it unless, of course, their starting word contained the necessary letter, then it could have been a cakewalk.
Despite the fairly easy setup for today's Wordle answer, some players may still need extra help solving the daily puzzle. Before fully spoiling it, here are a few hints to help out.
- Hint 1: There are no repeated letters in today's answer
- Hint 2: Today's word is commonly used to point blame at someone.
- Hint 3: This word is contained in the title of a famous 2012 novel by John Green about two sick teenagers who fall in love.
Today's Wordle Answer (October 24th #492)
The October 24th Wordle answer is FAULT.
For our starting Wordle word today we used IRATE which provided a few good hints with an incorrectly placed 'A' and 'T'. Moving forward and shuffling them up a bit we tried TACKS as our second guess. This locked in the correct spot for 'A' and gave us another incorrect location for 'T', it also provided even more wrong letters.
Moving forward our third guess for the day was BATON, this didn't do much to push us forward, but did lock in the correct location for 'T' since the end was the only possible spot left. Today's puzzle was definitely solved due to the letters that didn't belong as what was left to choose from could only fit into a few words. Luckily, we nailed it quickly and scored a win-in-four with the correct answer FAULT. Another win where the Wordle Hard Mode helped out since it refused to let us move around that 'A' to test different combinations, we were forced to adapt and use critical thinking to solve the day.
