The Wheel of Time has reassembled its adventuring team for a brand-new poster. The series, which is based on the Robert Jordan fantasy novels of the same name, premiered on Prime Video in November 2021. It follows Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), an Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah who believes that the mythical figure known as the Dragon Reborn has been reincarnated as one of five villagers.

The image shows the main cast reunited and preparing for battle against The Dark One, the evil entity that the Dragon Reborn has been prophesied to either help destroy or forces with. Prime Video has also teased that a trailer for the new season will potentially drop next week.
Why The Wheel of Time Season 2 Cast Looks a Little Different
As this poster reveals, the bulk of the main cast of The Wheel of Time will be returning in the new season. In addition to Pike and Daniel Henney as her Warder al'Lan Mandragoran, the bulk of the villagers she sought out in season 1 are returning. As pictured on the poster, this includes Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara and Madeleine Madden as Egwene al'Vere, as well as Josha Stradowski as Rand al'Thor.
However, one character, village gambler Mat Cauthon, looks quite different this time around. The Wheel of Time cast has experienced a major shakeup, as season 1 actor Barney Harris has been recast with Dónal Finn. Harris left before the series premiere aired, and though there has been speculation over the reasons for his recasting, nothing has been officially confirmed.
Considering the popularity of The Wheel of Time, this cast may be sticking around for quite a while yet. While season 2 was renewed in May 2021, half a year before the show even premiered, season 3 was also renewed a year ago in July 2022. Prime Video's supreme confidence in the series, which has so far been borne out by its viewership, means it will likely continue to be renewed for many years to come.
