Warning: Includes SPOILERS for Sirens!
Sirens is led by young stars like Milly Alcock and Meghann Fahy as well as some of the world's most distinguished actors, Julianne Moore and Kevin Bacon. It's the perfect series for a weekend binge, offering entertaining performances, mystery intrigue, and exciting, complex characters to follow. It's no wonder viewers are longing for more.
After five episodes, Sirens' ending offers some shocking reveals, leaving Simone (Milly Alcock) on the island, taking Michaela's (Julianne Moore) place as Peter's (Kevin Bacon) wife. Devon (Meghann Fahy) realizes how proud she is of the values she's maintained throughout her life and returns home with a fresh outlook, willing to take care of her father back in Buffalo. In many ways, the core of this tale is finished, but there's always room for more.
Sirens' Story Is Based On A Play That's Only 90 Minutes Long
Sirens Already Got The Most Out Of Its Source Material
Sirens isn't an original story, and with that comes a degree of responsibility to respect the source material. It's based on a 2011 play called Elemeno Pea, which is performed in 90 minutes. With that in mind, a season of five TV episodes is already over twice as long as the original story, offering additional characters and narrative elements to accommodate the television medium.
Sirens could expand with more seasons, but it'd be a massive risk to go on without a more solid foundation.
Making more of Sirens would come with a degree of risk, but similar things have happened before. The first season of HBO's Big Little Lies, as an example, was based on a popular novel, and the show was initially intended to be a miniseries. Following the success of the first season, a second season was written without a novel to it, and it garnered significantly less critical acclaim. Sirens could expand with more seasons, but it'd be a massive risk to go on without a more solid foundation. The play ends when it does, for a reason.
Sirens Being A Limited Series At Netflix Means More Episodes Aren't Coming
Nothing Is Confirmed Right Now
Sirens' five-episode count might be short, but there's no part 2 or second season to wait for. At least not yet. As of now, Netflix has made no official announcements regarding future seasons. Until further notice, the five currently available episodes are all that audiences should expect. It's a short season, but at least that allows for a quick, easy-to-consume story.

Sirens' 8 Biggest Unanswered Questions, Mysteries & Head-Scratchers
Netflix's drama miniseries Sirens highlights the world of the wealthy, casting light on their secrets, but a few big questions remain unanswered.
Netflix could opt to continue the show, or they could stick with what they have as a limited series. It will likely depend on practical reasons, like scheduling, as well as whether they can find the right story to bring everyone back. Audiences deserve good material, and bringing all the characters back to the island for reasons that feel contrived, just to perpetuate the drama, would be a shame.
Sirens' Cast & Creator Still Haven't Ruled Out Returning For Season 2
Nothing Is Impossible In Hollywood
Comments from the cast and creators behind Sirens can offer some insight into the decision regarding a second season. Luckily, for anyone who wants more, they haven't ruled out the possibility. Star Meghann Fahy spoke about season 2, expressing her interest in continuing the story. She noted that the cast and crew hadn't explored the possibility while working on the first, but that she was particularly curious about what might happen to Julianne Moore's Michaela.
Speaking to Glamour, Molly Smith Metzler, who wrote the play and created the TV adaptation, gave an optimistic response about season 2 while demonstrating her artistic integrity. On the matter of following up on the beloved Sirens characters, she claimed, "I could write them until the day I die. I’d never say never, but could I do them justice in another season? I’d have to think about it." It seems like the future of this TV show resides in her hands, meaning if Sirens returns, it will be for the right reasons.
