Warning: This post contains spoilers for Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania!

The post-credits scenes of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania introduced many variants of Kang the Conqueror into the MCU, including Victor Timely. Jonathan Majors' work was cut out for him in Quantumania, as he primarily portrayed Kang the Conqueror and also debuted multiple variants of the Multiverse Saga's supervillain in the post-credits scenes. Along with the introductions of Rama-Tut, Immortus, the Scarlet Centurion, and the Council of Kangs, Victor Timely debuted ahead of his appearance in Phase 4's Loki on Disney+.

In Marvel Comics, the original Kang creates variants of himself every time he travels to a new time period, which has amounted to the hundreds of variants seen as part of the Council of Kangs in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania's end-credits scenes. One of these variants, Victor Timely, is a version of Kang that settled on Earth in 1901 and established the town of Timely, Wisconsin. After constant battles with Earth's heroes, including the Avengers, the Fantastic Four, and a variety of mutants, Kang's Victor Timely disguise allowed him to develop new technologies in secret.

Victor Timely Is Key To Earth's Tech & Superhero Advancements

Planning to start his conquest of the modern age, Kang set up his base in Timely, assuming the identity of Victor Timely, and operating as the town's first Mayor. Using his influence and knowledge of advanced technologies, Timely set up factories and businesses, known as Timely Industries, and trained his staff in the basic principles of robotics. Victor Timely, who will appear in Loki season 2, oversaw a technological boom from Timely, and Kang set up his base, Chronopolis, out of sync with Timely to keep it hidden from the outside world.

When Victor Timely "died," Kang assumed the identity of Victor Timely Jr., taking over the town of Timely. In 1929, Timely Jr. recruited Professor Phineas T. Horton into Timely Industries, who would eventually design his own android, Marvel's original Human Torch, one of Marvel Comics' first ever superheroes who debuted in 1939's Marvel Comics #1. Timely Industries' technologies shaped the 20th Century and has been used by a variety of Marvel's heroes, including the Fantastic Four, Misty Knight's prosthetic arm, and the Deathlok cyborg, and all of that with Kang as the man behind the curtain.

How Will Victor Timely Fit Into Loki Season 2 & The Multiverse Saga?

Victor Timely shared his post-credit scene debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania with Loki and Mobius M. Mobius, teasing the storyline for Loki season 2, set to release on Disney+ in 2023. Loki's first season ended with the Multiverse being unleashed and Loki learning the truth about Kang and his variants, so it seems as though season 2 will see the God of Mischief tracking down Kang's variants throughout history and trying to stop them in their tracks. This could find Loki and Mobius coming face-to-face with Victor Timely in the 1920s in Timely, Wisconsin.

Victor Timely's debut in Quantumania suggests he will be very important to the Multiverse Saga, which could perhaps be through the technology created at Timely Industries or his connection to a time-displaced Chronopolis. Timely's introduction here also suggests that he has the desire to take over the modern age, which makes him a direct threat to Earth's Mightiest Heroes, aside from his ambition to wipe out entire timelines. Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania has planted some exciting seeds that will continue to grow throughout the MCU's Phase 5, leading to an epic showdown against Kang's variants in Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.
