The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is filled with various hidden side quests that players could miss during their playthrough if they only stick to the main story. There are even two short side missions related to Triss’ questline that most fans might never encounter. Both optional quests require Geralt to ignore Vesemir's advice and get involved by stopping the Witch Hunters from killing innocent mages.
In The Witcher 3, Geralt encounters Triss while following clues regarding Ciri’s location from the Bloody Baron. Geralt can aid the sorceress in her attempt to help mages escape from Novigrad, which has become increasingly hostile to magic due to the Witch Hunters. Besides being an important side character in the series, Triss is also one of several women that Geralt can romance in The Witcher 3. Although hanging out with Triss could be fun, players could explore the area and find two optional side missions in Novigrad, which become unavailable after completing the “Now or Never” quest.
Geralt Can Save Remi Villeroy In The Witcher 3
Players can trigger this optional quest by exploring the Farcorners district in Novigrad. Several Witch Hunters are trying to get inside Remi Villeroy’s house and want to apprehend him for ing the Lodge of Sorceresses and influencing Redanian soldiers in The Witcher 3. If Geralt intervenes, the mage will reward players with Perun, Veles, and Chernobog Runestones. Later, players can find him ing the group of magic practitioners who are fleeing to Kovir.
Moritz Diefenthel Can Be Rescued In The Witcher 3
Players first encounter Moritz Diefenthel in “A Matter of Life and Death” mission, which is also the quest where Geralt can kiss Triss in The Witcher 3. The Witch Hunters capture Moritz sometime after the banquet, and they decide to burn the sorcerer alive using a pyre outside the Glory Gate. He tries to drag Geralt into trouble by telling the Witch Hunters that the Witcher killed their comrades in the Vegelbud ball. If Geralt saves him and tells him to seek out Triss, Moritz can also be found in the mage's hideout in The Witcher 3’s “Now or Never” quest.
Geralt can also opt to remain indifferent and let the Witch Hunters kill Remi and Moritz. Triss will still help the mages escape Novigrad, but players will not find the two characters in the crowd. Despite their limited narrative impact, the optional side quests make the world feels responsive to Geralt's decisions. Unfortunately, most players could miss these Witcher 3 side quests since they are not mentioned in the Journal. However, if players want to help more mages escape from Novigrad in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, they can save two of Triss’ friends, Moritz Diefenthel and Remi Villeroy, from being killed by the Witch Hunters.
