In the pages of Marvel Comics, Thor's hammer, Mjolnir. In Fear Itself #7, the Avengers' backs were up against the wall, as the Serpent was unleashed on the Marvel Universe. To stop them, Odin gave each hero a weapon made of Uru to fight the potential universe-ending threat. As a result, Wolverine ended up getting one of the coolest upgrades: Uru armor that enhances his already incredible mutant abilities.

In the Fear Itself limited series at Marvel Comics by Matt Fraction, Stuart Immonen, Wade Von Grawbadger, Laura Martin, and Chris Eliopoulos, Sin freed the Serpent from the bottom of Mariana's Trench and made Red Skull's daughter his Herald. Then, the Serpent unleashed seven hammers across the world, transforming the wielders into his own soldiers. The Avengers tried to defeat the Serpent, but the villain proved too powerful, even shattering Captain America's shield. Realizing they needed more help, Iron Man and Odin teamed up in Asgard to create new Uru-powered weapons in a final stand against the Serpent.

In Fear Itself #7, Iron Man informs Earth's Mightiest Heroes he worked with Odin to bless several powerful weapons made of Uru, the same material as Thor's hammer. When activated, the weapons have a transformational property that connects them with each hero. So, Iron Man ends up with Uru-powered armor, Captain Marvel wields a massive battle-axe, and Doctor Strange gets a new staff that's connected to him like Thor's hammer. The coolest transformation belongs to Wolverine, who gets an entire set of Uru-armor, as his claws burn like the forge of Nidavellir. Wolverine's entire ensemble can be seen in an epic action shot in the comic.

Ultimately, Wolverine would help the Uru-powered heroes in defeating the Serpent. After killing the villain, the weapons were returned to Svartalfheim, where Odin melted them.

Wolverine might have only used his Uru armor and powers in one battle, but what a fight it was. With the upgrade, Logan took down one of Serpent's greatest warriors and looked awesome doing it. Wolverine's Uru armor and claws are undoubtedly one of the coolest power-ups he's ever received among his countless upgrades. It's fun to imagine how much damage Wolverine could cause against normal villains with the Thor-like upgrade. But, alas, the upgrade wasn't meant to last forever.
