With the launch of World of Warcraft Burning Crusade Classic, players finally have a chance to either relive some of their favorite dungeons and raids, or to experience them for the first time. While WoW Classic succeeded in providing fans with the same opportunity, some players were frustrated by how easy the content was compared to what they ed from the original game. For Burning Crusade Classic, there are a few changes that should make the game much more challenging.
One of the most important changes moving from WoW Classic to Burning Crusade Classic is that players will no longer feel forced to rely on world buffs. World buffs did not have much of an effect on raiding in the original WoW, yet for the most part defined the raiding meta in WoW Classic. Without access to the same world buffs that dominated WoW Classic and made raid encounters much easier, players will have to take on the content as it was originally intended.
Another big change coming with Burning Crusade Classic is the inclusion of heroic dungeons, something that will make 5-person content much more difficult. Unlike in Classic WoW, where most dungeons were easy to clear after gaining raid gear, heroic dungeons should remain a challenge for the groups and guilds well into the expansion. Burning Crusade Classic players will have to know the encounters well in order to clear these more difficult versions of the content.
Why "Some Changes" Will Make Burning Crusade Classic More Difficult
One of the most important things that Blizzard has announced in regards to their "some changes" philosophy for Burning Crusade Classic is that the various raid bosses will be implemented in their "pre-nerf" forms. This means that the bosses will me more difficult than how they appeared in the original World of Warcraft: The Burning Crusade. With how much more current players know about the game than they once did, this is an important change that should give raiders more of a challenge. The Burning Crusade raids are naturally a little more complex than those in WoW Classic as is, and having stronger bosses will only help to amp up the difficulty.
Although Burning Crusade Classic will be more difficult than WoW Classic, top guilds can still expect it to be a relatively easy ride. In an interview with Screen Rant, Blizzard developers Holly Longdale and Brian Birmingham itted that the game's content will be completed quicker than it was originally. The goal of these WoW Classic era servers is to allow players to experience World of Warcraft as it was, and so players shouldn't expect many more big changes just to make the content harder.
Without world buffs and with pre-nerf bosses, Burning Crusade Classic's content will challenge most players. While it's doubtful that the game will be nearly as difficult as the higher end content in modern World of Warcraft, players will still need to know their stuff if they want to have success.
