Another major surprise from WWE came at WrestleMania 41 as Becky Lynch made her triumphant return to WWE as Lyra Valkyria's surprise opponent, filling in for Bayley after an injury sidelined her from their match against Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez and winning the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship. Lynch, who hasn't been seen on WWE programming since June 2024, reportedly signed a new contract earlier this year but had no specific creative plans in place at the time.

Lynch ed Valkyria, the current Women's Intercontinental Champion, in their match against Morgan and Rodriguez and won the gold, making Valkyria the only current double champion on the roster. It was a celebrated return by fans in the live Vegas crowd, some showing emotion as The Man returned to WWE.

Our Take On Becky Lynch's Return To WWE

A Fabled Champion Returns To The Women's Division

Becky Lynch, the sixth Triple Crown and Grand Slam Champion in WWE, has not a lot left to accomplish in WWE, as well as in her career, so it was seemingly beneficial that The Man returned to assist in the mid-card division, potentially adding gravitas and needed competition for both the Women's Intercontinental and Women's United States championships that seem to be lacking creative direction, which is not by fault of the performers who hold them. Chelsea Green, one of the most popular Superstars on the roster, had no match at this year's WrestleMania to the surprise of many disappointed fans.

By helping elevate the mid-card and tag team divisions with her appearance, as well as unfinished business with Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley, Lynch can help bring additional layers to the impressively stacked division. Unopposed to taking part in NXT, as well as the TNA partnership that opens up the potential of matches in their Knockouts division and reports of Evolution 2 on the horizon, Lynch picked the perfect time to return.
