2024's Survivor Series. Tensions have been boiling between Heyman, Punk, and Roman Reigns for a while. After years of tormenting and bullying the entire WWE locker room, for the first time in his career, he felt vulnerable and desperate for help. Heyman took the initiative and sought help from an old friend in Punk. That has never sat well with The Tribal Chief.
This all occurred after withstanding several months of torture from Solo Sikoa and The Bloodline while Reigns stayed at home to "recover" from losing his title. One couldn't blame Heyman for wanting to revisit the relationship from the past with Punk and betray Reigns. Since so much has happened over the past year, it appears that Heyman and Punk are fated to reunite in WWE and we already know the magic they can capture together.
Paul Heyman & CM Punk Look Destined To Be Reunited In WWE
All Signs Indicate Heyman Leaves Roman For Punk
It's been 12 years since Punk and Heyman were together as a wrestler and manager combination. It has always felt like they had unfinished business together since their time together was so short-lived. As someone who grew up watching this era, it felt like trying to find proof that the Shazaam movie with Sinbad exists.
But that in itself suggests how impressive their short-lived collaboration after they aligned in September 2012 on Monday Night Raw was. That run lasted only until Heyman turned on Punk at Money in the Bank in 2013, and it's high time WWE turn back the clock and give us more of their dynamic.
As WWE Champion in 2012, Punk became the top heel in the company. The moment he attacked John Cena backstage and helped Alberto Del Rio defeat him was a very memorable moment in his already storied career. As he got to the enger side of a black car with tinted windows and it began to drive off, the driver was revealed to be Heyman. For the next 300-plus days, the two would go on to have a great heel run that, in hindsight, seemed overshadowed by unprecedented interference from The Shield to his opponents that allowed him to retain the title.

Why Paul Heyman WILL Betray Roman Reigns & Side With CM Punk - WWE Theory Explained
WWE has been teasing Paul Heyman turning on Roman Reigns for a while now. Will he actually do it?
Everything Punk stood for during this run was demanding respect. Fast-forward to the present, both Punk and Heyman could resurrect that mission as they both have compelling cases for doing so. Ever since Punk returned, there simply hasn't been the level of respect he deserves. It's almost as if he needs a hype man with decades of experience to make sure that reverence returns.
And for Heyman himself, he could be tired of being Reigns' "Wiseman" and feeling used and then thrown off to side. Where was Reigns when Heyman was being put through tables on Smackdown by Sikoa, Jacob Fatu and The Tonga's? After the most recent Raw on Netflix, the image of Heyman consoling Punk inside the ring while Reigns attacked Rollins outside, made it abundantly clear where things are headed. With their unfinished business - the small matter of the favor Heyman owes Punk - and history, the pair will surely reunite once again.
This Single Match Proves Exactly Why We Deserve More Of Punk & Heyman
Punk's Match at Night of Champions in 2012 Was His Best Match With Heyman By His Side
At Night of Champions in 2012, Cena and Punk went head-to-head for the WWE Championship. It ended up being one of Punk's best matches during this 300-plus-day title reign, and also became one of his best rivalries of all-time. While some may say this match didn't deliver up to expectations, looking back a decade later, this match wasn't nearly as bad as everyone made it out to be. The pace was a bit slower, but the two traded all of their finishes and signatures throughout the match. Honestly, the only blemish on this match was the double-pin ending that resulted in Punk retaining.
As good as this match was, one huge missing ingredient in this match is that Heyman didn't help Punk win. This was the biggest match the two were in together and Heyman was just ringside. It should have been more of a crowning moment of their relationship, and it feels like a missed opportunity that should get justice 12 years later with another alliance of Punk and Heyman. Their work together in 2012 and 2013 was incredible, with Heyman's legendary boasting amplifying the legend of Punk as it unfurled.
Plainly, CM Punk and Heyman deserve a reunion, whether it's as heels again or as babyfaces. There were so many missed opportunities with the Heyman-Punk duo 12 years ago and more time together would be the best remedy. Cena and Punk's match is a summary of how Heyman and Punk's run together was. It leaves the feeling that there is more to be accomplished together, and they've got unfinished business in WWE.
