The match card for steal the show this weekend.
One of the matches that could steal the show is the fatal four-way match between Bron Breakker, Finn Balor, Penta, and Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship. This match has been building over the past couple of months, with tension intensifying between The Judgement Day Balor and Mysterio. Meanwhile, Breakker and Penta both believe they're superior to the midcard title scene on Monday Night Raw. However, kee-eyed fans can predict the winner of this match with ease: the story of who should win the IC belt has been written over the past couple of years.
The Intercontinental Championship Match Has One of the Most Underrated Storylines
The Midcard Scene on Raw Isn't Being Talked About Enough
In his second Intercontinental title reign in the past year, Breakker is approaching 180 days as the champion. While he has been dominating over the past year, the addition of Penta to Monday Night Raw has caused some friction between him and Breakker. Since debuting back in January, Penta has beaten everyone (in singles competition) that he's gone up against thus far. He has been on a clear path to getting his first taste of championship gold in WWE. While those two have been in their own feud, they've been intertwined with another feud that also centers around pursuing a title. It all combines into a formula for one of the best matches at WrestleMania 41.
As these four men strive to capture one of the company's most prestigious titles in history, they all have their own stories about why they deserve it. Balor has been starving for championship gold again ever since he and JD McDonagh lost the World Tag Team Championships to the War Raiders back in December on Raw. So much so, his desperation has interfered with the camaraderie of The Judgement Day and has caused him and Mysterio to bump heads quite often.
Aside from the story, the actual match will feature a ton of exciting spots. We'll likely get to see Breakker's overpowering spear, Penta's Fear Factor or Pentagon Driver, a Coup de Grâce from Balor, and a frog splash from Mysterio. When it's all said and done, the rightful winner of this match has had their journey to winning laid out for them over the past few years.
WWE Has Created the Perfect Scenario to Push Dominik Mysterio to the Next Level
The Time Is Ripe for Dominik to Win a Singles Championship
Two of the four superstars in this four-way match will be participating in their first-ever WrestleMania, Penta and Breakker. Balor, on the other hand, is 1-3 in WrestleMania matches. Three of those matches were also for the IC title. Mysterio has yet to win a match at 'Mania and is 0-3, still seeking his first victory on the Grandest Stage of Them All. His journey to this match has been written in the stars and makes total sense why he deserves to walk out with his first main roster championship gold.
Ever since Dirty Dom turned on his father and ed The Judgement Day, he instantly became one of the top heels in the industry. He continuously received heat from the WWE live crowds on a weekly basis. He took being a heel to an entirely new level, as every week he was being booed so loudly that he literally could not speak. Since he ed the faction, he has become the backbone of the group due to his on-screen romances with Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan. It was due to this that he quietly became the leader of the group and the glue that held everything together.
However, since Rhea and Priest quit Judgment Day, the group has struggled to stay relevant. The one who suffered most has been, perhaps, Dom, who went from being the top heel of the company to a midcarder who is doing his best to keep the faction alive. However, that doesn't mean that the company does not believe in Dirty Dom. Considering he's more than proved his worth, it's plausible that WWE wants to build Dom as the next big bad guy in the company, with or without the of Judgment Day. The best way to start would be to put a singles championship around his waist.
