WWE has announced their 2025 Slammy Award Nominations. The winners won't be announced until the Fans Choice Awards stream live from Las Vegas on WWE’s social network platforms on Sunday, April 20. It's always fun to look back at the past year and vote for your favorite superstars, matches and moments during that time.
In the past year, we've seen some memorable feuds, classic title matches, hilarious social media content, and witnessed history. Let's take a look at each category for the 2025 WWE Slammy Awards and make predictions on who will win.
Female Superstar of the Year
Liv Morgan |
Rhea Ripley |
Bayley |
Nia Jax |
Tiffany Stratton |
Chelsea Green |
Iyo Sky |
It was a year when we witnessed an extreme amount of growth within the women's division in WWE. Even with stars like Charlotte Flair and Becky Lynch out for the majority of the year, it gave new women a chance to take over the spotlight. All of these women have legitimate cases regarding why they were nominated. Nia Jax won the 2024 Queen of the Ring Tournament and went on to Summerslam to defeat Bayley to become the WWE Women's Champion. While she has a very compelling case, the winner for female superstar of the year will be Liv Morgan.

WWE's 10 Most Recent Women’s World Title Reigns, Ranked
The history of the WWE World Women's Championship (fka SmackDown Women's Title) has had highs and lows in its lineage.
After a bland run as Women's World Champion back in 2022, Morgan was able to find a character that worked for her during her "Revenge Tour" in 2024. She injured Ripley by attacking her (with help from Raquel Rodriguez) in the parking lot, which made her vacate the title. Although Lynch won the title in a battle royal on Monday Night Raw the following week, Morgan defeated her at Queen of the Ring to win the Women's World Championship, a title that she would hold for 226 days. In addition to this, she also defeated Jax at Crown Jewel to become the first-ever Women's Crown Jewel Champion. It was a fantastic year for Morgan, who will likely be rewarded with a Slammy.
Male Superstar of the Year
Cody Rhodes |
Roman Reigns |
Gunther |
CM Punk |
Damian Priest |
Drew McIntyre |
Jey Uso |
Seth Rollins |
This is a category that will come down to two male superstars. Although Gunther and CM Punk also had irable runs over the past year, it will come down to either Jey Uso or Cody Rhodes. There is a lot to be said about a superstar who organically became a top solo superstar in the company in one year's time after being in a tag team for the majority of his 15-year career in WWE, like Uso. It's hard to imagine even talking about 2024 without mentioning Uso's rise to stardom, but if anyone had a better year, it was the American Nightmare.
Unlike Uso, Rhodes hasn't been pinned since Money in the Bank in July 2024 in a 6-man tag team match alongside Randy Orton and Kevin Owens against The Bloodline. Quickly, Rhodes has become the face of the company and top babyface in the world of professional wrestling. Rhodes is the male superstar of the year.
Most Memorable Entrance
Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania |
Jey Uso on Raw Debut on Netflix w/ Travis Scott |
Roman Reigns at WrestleMania |
The Rock at WrestleMania |
Bayley at WrestleMania |
Randy Orton at Bash in Berlin |
Seth Rollins at WrestleMania with the Philadelphia Mummers Band |
Sami Zayn in Montreal w/ Jey Uso |
Sami Zayn at WrestleMania w/ Kevin Owens & Chad Gable |
Logan Paul at Summerslam w/ MGK |
Dominik Mystero at Bad Blood w/ Liv Morgan in the lowrider |
Drew McIntyre at Clash at the Castle |
While entrances typically can be rinse and repeat, occasionally there are special moments that are captured during entrances that make them memorable. Drew McIntyre's entrance at Clash at the Castle was enough to bring chills throughout your body, and so was Roman Reigns' entrance at WrestleMania 40 with/ Philadelphia student musicians choir.
This award might come with some recency bias, but the winner will be Uso's entrance at the Raw Debut on Netflix with/ rapper Travis Scott. The entrance through the crowd, with Scott bringing the "sage" to Raw on Netflix, felt like WWE was entering a new era with its presentation and celebrity inclusion. It was the most memorable entrance in the past year.
OMG Moment of the Year
Cody Rhodes vs. Roman Reigns match finish at WrestleMania 40 |
Dominik Mysterio turning on Rhea Ripley at Summerslam |
Kevin Owens turning on Randy Orton & Cody Rhodes in October |
New Day turning on Big E on Raw |
Tiffany Stratton's MITB cash-in on Nia Jax on Smackdown |
Damian Priest MITB cash-in on Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania 40 |
Wyatt Sicks debut on Raw |
Bron Breakker spearing iShowSpeed at Royal Rumble |
Bronson Reed hitting Tsunami on Braun Strowman onto a car |
John Cena turning on Cody Rhodes at Elimination Chamber |
Roman Reigns returning at Summerslam |
Iyo Sky beating Rhea Ripley to become Women's World Champion on Raw |
WWE has gotten bigger and better than ever, and it's due in part to their OMG moments. Some of these moments are why WWE continues to thrive and grow to broader audiences all around the world every year. The Wyatt Sicks debut on Raw was a very emotional night to pay homage to the late Bray Wyatt. The New Day turning on Big E came as one of the biggest shocking moments of the year as well. This category comes down to Bronson Reed's Tsunami on Braun Strowman onto a car, or John Cena's heel turn on Cody Rhodes. It's easy to see who will win.

One WWE Legend Knows Exactly Why It Took 20 Years to Turn John Cena Heel
While some fans still wonder what took WWE so long to turn John Cena heel, one Hall of Famer puts it all into a perspective that makes perfect sense.
Cena's heel turn has taken the entire world of professional wrestling by storm. It has been talked about on ESPN and several national sports radio shows. In addition to that, the heel turn wasn't expected at all. With Cena being in his final year before retirement, he was expected to ride off into the sunset. Instead, he shockingly sold his soul to The Rock in pursuit of winning a record-breaking 17th world title. In doing so, he turned on the top babyface in the company. Has OMG moment of the year written all over it.
Faction of the Year
The OG Bloodline |
The Judgement Day |
The New Bloodline |
American Made |
Damage CTRL |
Something that WWE has made certain for quite some time now is that they love factions. The biggest storyline in the world of professional wrestling over the past five years has been surrounded by The Bloodline. True wrestling family supremacy has been sustained by both a New Bloodline and the OG Bloodline. Since the OG Bloodline only lasted for a short period of time, the only two that have an argument in this category are The New Bloodline and The Judgement Day.
The growth of Solo Sikoa, Jacob Fatu, and Tama Tonga over the past year alone gives them the victory here. Tonga advanced to the Semi-Finals in the King of the Ring Tournament, won the tag titles with Fatu/Tonga Loa, and Sikoa as the leader, created chaos on Smackdown for an entire year that nearly won him a title. Even though he came up short, The New Bloodline clears the Top Faction of the Year by a landslide.
Tag Team of The Year
#DIY |
Awesome Truth |
A-Town Down Under |
Jade Cargill & Bianca Belair |
Motor City Machine Guns |
The Bloodline |
The War Raiders |
The Judgement Day |
The Street Profits |
Liv Morgan & Raquel Rodriguez |
Last year at WrestleMania 40, the Undisputed Tag Team Champions were split up into two separate belts. The World Tag Team Championships would go to Monday Night Raw with Awesome Truth, and the WWE Tag Team Championships went to A-Town Down Under on Smackdown after the ladder match in Philadelphia at WM 40. Unfortunately, neither team had a memorable tag team title reign. While The Judgement Day have had the tag titles for the majority of the past couple of years, this award should go to Jade Cargill and Bianca Belair.

WrestleMania 41 Women's World Championship Match Confirmed On WWE Raw
Bianca Belair Learned Her WrestleMania Opponent On This Week's Raw
For so long, WWE has struggled to provide the Women's Tag Team Championships with the prestige that the men's tag team titles had. This past year, Cargill and Belair helped elevate the titles more than they've ever been before. It was because of their reign as champions that Cargill is now in a feud with Naomi, who took her spot as champion after sneak-attacking her in the parking lot months ago. Months later, the two will be facing each other at WrestleMania 41. Although Naomi and Belair lost the titles while Cargill was out to Morgan and Rodriguez, they built those titles up to be important, which couldn't be said for many women's tag teams in the past. They deserve the nod for tag team of the year.
Rivalry of the Year
CM Punk and Drew McIntyre |
Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes |
Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley |
Damian Priest and Finn Balor |
Kevin Owens and Cody Rhodes |
Nia Jax and Tiffany Stratton |
Bloodline versus Bloodline |
Part of what makes WWE so exhilarating is their long-term storytelling with rivalries. In the past year, we watched Reigns and Rhodes end their year-long rivalry, The Judgement Day implode, and a new Bloodline take over the OG Bloodline. All of those storylines have been brewing for the past couple of years. Oddly enough, none of those will walk away with feud of the year. That award goes to CM Punk and Drew McIntyre.
In addition to the classic Hell in A Cell match between McIntyre and Punk, their feud created some of the best promos of 2024. The moment Punk returned at Survivor Series in December 2023, McIntyre stormed out of the arena in disgust of Punk's return. The two would go on an intense rivalry that would take its shape at WrestleMania 40. McIntyre finally wins the World title after defeating Rollins, but is distracted by Punk after the match, and Priest successfully cashes-in on McIntyre immediately following the match. They took their hatred of each other to an entire new level and deserve the feud of the year.
NXT Superstar of the Year
Oba Femi |
Roxanne Perez |
Trick Williams |
Ethan Page |
Giulia |
Kelani Jordan |
WWE NXT has arguably grown to become one of the best weekly wrestling shows. Slowly, it feels like they're getting away from the developmental brand they were once known to be, and instead becoming just the company's third show. Much of that growth is thanks to Roxanne Perez. The Prodigy enjoyed her 2nd NXT Women's Champion reign for 276 days before she was finally dethroned by Giulia.
After being defeated, she immediately participated in the Women's Royal Rumble in front of 50,000-plus fans and lasted until the final two before being the last superstar eliminated by Flair. She then took her talents to Monday Night Raw and defeated Rodriguez to qualify for the Women's Elimination Chamber. She has put together one of the best tenures in NXT history and is on her way to the main roster to accomplish even more. Perez is the NXT superstar of the year.
Match of the Year
Roman Reigns versus Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania |
CM Punk versus Drew McIntyre/ Hell in a Cell Match |
Roman Reigns/The Rock versus Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at WrestleMania |
Liv Morgan versus Rhea Ripley at Summerslam |
Damian Priest versus Gunther at Summerslam |
Cody Rhodes versus AJ Styles at Backlash |
2024 Men's WarGames match |
Bayley versus Iyo Sky at WrestleMania |
Sami Zayn versus Gunther at WrestleMania |
Gunther versus Randy Orton at Bash in Berlin |
Seth Rollins versus CM Punk on Raw Debut on Netflix |
When it comes to the best matches of 2024, the important task at hand is to differentiate a great moment that defined the outcome of a match, and separate it from actual great matches. Sami Zayn beating Gunther at WrestleMania 40 was an emotional moment, and the same was true for Rhodes beating Reigns. However, from bell to bell, the best match of 2024 was McIntyre and Punk's Hell in a Cell match.
On a rare occasion, WWE brought blood and more blood to Bad Blood in 2024. McIntyre and Punk capped off one of the best feuds in recent years with this match and so much storytelling with Punk's "Larry and AJ" bracelet in that match. An absolute banger that deserves the nod for match of the year.
WTF Moment of the Year
R-Truth calls Triple H "Ciampa" |
Kevin Owens car interviews |
Chelsea Green goes into dumpster |
Dominik Mysterio in the shark cage |
iShowSpeed with Logan Paul at WrestleMania |
LA Knight and Logan Paul's pool |
R-Truth wrestles John Cena |
Rabit noises from Tama Tonga |
Jacob Fatu: "I Love You Solo" |
The Wyatt Sicks debut |
While this is a less serious category, it does also provide a chance for people like iShowSpeed and R-Truth to receive some nominations for some hilarious moments. Out of these, the first nomination that instantly brought back the "WTF" feeling was the Wyatt Sicks debut.
The cinematic touch that WWE put into their debut with all the bodies lying backstage and the gunshot wound on Chad Gable in his head made it feel like a thrilling horror movie. As someone who loves a great horror movie, I think it was so well done that it deserves the "WTF" moment of the year.
Social Star of The Year
Drew McIntyre |
Chelsea Green |
This is one of the categories that could've been a bit longer. Yes, it would likely come down to McIntyre and Chelsea Green, but others like Bayley, Michin, and Kayden Carter are all also very fun to follow on social media for different reasons. With McIntyre taking the honor of this award last year, it would be a great time to reward Green for this year's award.
Her campaign that led to her becoming the first-ever Women's United States Champion was one of the best things to follow in the past year on Twitter/X. She's not only campaigned for herself to win gold, but she has also recruited new to The Green Regime on social media as well. She's been the best to follow over the past year and should win the Slammy this time around.
Breakout Superstar of the Year
Bron Breakker |
Lyra Valkyria |
Penta |
Oba Femi |
Giulia |
Tiffany Stratton |
Jacob Fatu |
Chelsea Green |
Stephania Vaquer |
One of the best parts of watching professional wrestling is watching new stars being born. Thanks to WWE, we get to watch some of the superstars grow from a young up-and-coming superstar on WWE NXT, and watch them blossom into a star on the main roster. For some superstars, it happens a lot quicker than it does for others. In the past year, we've watched Tiffany Stratton become an absolute star and win the approval of the WWE Universe with her Money in the Bank briefcase win. She teased her cash-in for so long and when she finally successfully cashed-in on her former bestie Jax, the crowd went ballistic for her.
A year ago, Stratton was called up in the WWE Draft to the main roster. Fast-forward a year later, and she is defending the WWE Women's Championship against the Women's Royal Rumble winner and all-time great, Charlotte Flair, at WrestleMania 41. It's hard to imagine seeing any other superstar grow as much as she has in the past year. The Slammy for Breakout Superstar of the Year has to go to Tiffy Time.
