the inclusion of hardware to them. Controller implementation for PC usage has been a long time endeavor and nearly perfected in the last couple of years. With a ton of mapping capabilities, players have quite a bit of freedom with a controller on PC. Though there are restrictions among a large population of games and PC platforms that don't controller use directly, there are still ways to work around it. In turn, it seems Xbox has realized that some players just prefer to play a certain way, and use certain tools.

Keyboard and mouse implementation came much later during the Xbox One generation, specifically during the Xbox One X. Now, with the series X/S players can break out a mouse and keyboard from the jump, and game the way they know best. Controllers are known as the "easier" method, but for those who may be switching to Xbox from PC, giving up a mouse for a joystick is difficult and downright impossible for some. Here's how to set it up, and get started.

How to Setup Keyboard & Mouse on Xbox Series X/S

Xbox Keyboard and Mouse

There are many different types of keyboards and mice, one main difference being wired and wireless. Any mouse and keyboard with a USB connection shouldn't have any problems connecting to the console. There's more than one USB connection in the back so, use those and they should start working immediately. If any trouble does seem to occur, players can simply go to the settings on their console, then keyboard/mouse, and troubleshoot settings manually.

This goes for both wired and wireless setups. For wireless setups though, if the keyboard and mouse share a singular adapter as a connection, some problems may occur. The console might them as a single device rather than two separate, and could cause some infrequent abnormalities in performance. To avoid any confusion it is recommended to look up and acquire a keyboard and mouse optimized for console use, but this isn't always feasible. Logitech, Corsair, and Razr are in the top running so if players happen to fall in any of these camps, things should work fine. It is also possible to make some adjustments to the key bindings. Head to the settings menu, find devices, and click on configuration.
